Is Nursing Your Passion?

Yes---although I'd like to add that I haven't started classes yet.
But I do think this is "it", my vocation, my calling, etc.,...
Or I could just be nuts. :roll

IT is like marriage or you have to work on it to keep the passion alive.

Nursing is not my passion. I feel the greatest sense of passion on payday, when my earnings are directly deposited into my bank account. I always look forward to the next paycheck, but I do not look forward to nursing.

Yes, Nursing is my passion. Especially when I see the progress in my patients and I know I had a part in their progress. I hate the bad parts of nursing, like too much paperwork, pee and poop, and grumpy patients......but for the most part, I go home everyday feeling like I accomplished something....if thats what passion is...then yes, I have a passion for nursing..........I hope it always stays this way......

No. To me, a passion is something that allows you to keep going on in life. It is something that makes your life worth living and enjoyable. At least at this point in my life, nursing is just a job. Yes, there are moments that I enjoy nursing and get some satisfaction from my job. However, I could still find a lot of enjoyment in life if I never worked as a nurse again. My true passion in life is fitness and the joy of teaching fitness to others.

Yes, it's always been my passion.
Even when I wasn't a nurse, I would read everything I could get my hands on about health and healing. All the neighbors and family members would come to me for advice.
I've learned a lot as a nurse and I credit my profession for teaching me how to live my life as well as how to take care of others.

No. I care about nursing and I have had a long, successful nursing career -- but I wouldn't call it a passion. I don't feel driven by it in any way ... or consumed by it. I can imagine being happy without it.
Just a wee question then? Why not do someting that fulfills you, and makes your soul max out?
For me, it's nursing the preemies, must admit, that sometimes, its to the detriment of my family life, as i dont switch off easily.
In an IDEAL world, I would run a wee sandwich bar, making bananna & carrot cake, mega tuna stuff, having zilllions of time with my hubby and kiddos!
But..in the real world..thats so no going to be!
Guess my family love me anyhow! (but one day..Perhaps?????)
