Is anyone applying for or has applied for California State University, Chico State's nursing program? I'm planning on applying for spring 08 and just wanted to know what the cut off points were. I'm so nervous about the whole point system. I've calculated/estimated my total points and it seems like I should be somewhere in between 83-85/100 points. Does anyone know if that's good enough? I highly doubt that's good enough to get me in. I'm just sooooo stress out about never getting in a nursing program soon.
Thanks Polkadot(love that name by the way lol)
FutureER, From my understanding, you only need 2 upper GE classes and your ethnicity class should be one of them, so you only need 2 upper GE.
Also, there are no summer classes, so you can take your GEs during summer at Sac State which is closer to you(I presume)
I am just saying that because you said you didn't want to be away from your fiance and 2 times a week driving 1h20 is doable. You can stay home until next fall. you know what I mean!
The thing that is confusing to me is that Chico uses what are called "themes" for their upper-division courses. So you would have to take both classes from the same theme. So I dont know which theme would have classes that satisfy the ethnic requirement. Guess I need to do a little more research! I suppose if I don't get any of the GE classes I want for this semester I guess I might as well stay living with my fiance (if he hasnt already moved to his bachelor pad by then lol) and do what you are doing. I dont know we'll, see... It would certainly be easier then trying to find a place to live and move within a month. Did you decide where are you going yet? I hope chico! I could use a friend I already know kinda hehe.
Whatever classes they might want me to take(I doubt I have to take any other classes cause I already have another degree), I will have to take it at Sac State during the summer. I took ethnicity in the U.S, at ARC a while back, this count as an upper GE diversity at the State univversity, so if u have that you should have only 1 upper GE class left. Anyway, I am driving to Chico Monday morning to go see what's up. I am confused out of my mind and so broke right now, lol
Ok, for my choice of school. I had AnP #2 and another class in progress. Humboldt requires a 2.7 in those classes. I got a B in AnP-Well, I really did just slid by, I had so much other things going on, with the nursing applications, the transcripts requests, the stress of waiting for the results, and then I have a husband and a child, so really I slacked big time this semester.
I had an A in Pharmacology. So, if I get another B in that other class--wich I think I should get an A in-- I am in Humboldt. If not, well, Chico only requires a C, I'll be in Chico.
So, I am still stressing cause I really want to go to Humboldt. This is crazy, it's my fault, I know, so I'll let you know next week once the grade is posted. lol
lol hehe why do they have to make everything so confusing?? Anyways, I think its cool you want to go to humboldt, its pretty up there. I've wanted to go to Chico for a long time so I am excited! I only took a non-western class, no ethnic classes and I dont have any bachelors degrees only 3 associates so I have to take 3 upper division classes. But oh well would be fun to take some... seeing as how I've only taken classes at a community college :).
Runningoutoftime do you still need a roommate? I am trying to decide when my mom and I go down to look at apartemnts if I should be looking at 2 bdr or 1 bdr. I have a lot to do to get ready, need a bed, furniture, etc etc lol. Also I have a cat and she is coming with me so you would have to be ok with that too . I've never had a female roommate before because I moved out of my parents house and went right into living with my fiance.... so I am a little nervous! Lots to get used to, but we'll see.... maybe I just get my own apartment and live alone for a bit!
well, we are definitely in the same boat here.... you are moving away from your b/f of 4 years and I moving away my my fiance (we just got engaged a month ago) of 7 years.....As much as I would rather have an apartment by myself for freedom and privacy, I am scared of what will happen when I am by myself since I have never lived alone. But my mom and I are going down to Chico the weekend of the 3rd so we will check out 1 and 2 bdr apts and see what happens. Do you have any problems with cats? Do you have any pets? Do we want 2 bath or just 1? And if we do decide to room together, how much are looking to spend on rent? lets see what else....... are you a neat freak like me? any pet peeves? lemme know :)
Haha...I actually have 2 cats, but they won't be coming with me. I have been looking online for apts and they are really cheap. I think a reasonable price range for a 2 bedroom apt is anywhere from 800-1200 per month. I am flexible and will be living on student loans anyways. Let's see...other details...I turned 22 today, I am pretty clean/organized, I cook my own food and clean up after myself. For the most part, I am pretty laid back/easy going.
excellent! I am 23 (turned 23 in July) and happy b-day btw!! I also cook my own food (always cooked my meals for my man), clean up a lot because I dont like being messy, like to watch one tree hill, gossip girl, CSI, ER, etc.... Ok next things to ask... I will be bringing my own dresser and bed and I can bring a dining room table with 2 chairs and some plates/pots and pans if you aren't going to bring those. So if we decide to do this we will have to sit down with eachother and decide what we need for our apt. :) I am trying to look at moving away from my fiance and rooming with someone I dont know in an optomistic way and I want to see this as a new and exciting experience! So we can e-mail eachother if this seems like something we really want to do! :) Go nursing class of 2012!

Been following your posts - how exciting! Also, my daughter is leaving Chico to go to school in Sac in January and has a lease on an apt until February. One roommate already moved completely, the other is in the process. Anyone interested in looking and taking over the lease? Very nice apts, 3 bedrooms. If so, pm me and I'll give you her phone number.
We are in the process of finding a place for her in the Fair Oaks area from Madison to Hiway 80.

no, I haven't registered for the classes yet because I cant until the 5th. I think that is when open enrollment for us new students begins. Yes, we are only taking 6 units (2 classes) but I still have 2 upper-division classes to take as well as an ethnic course for my Bachelors Degree. So, by the time I actually get to register I will have to take the crappy classes nobody wants....But I want to take these 3 classes before we become full time students with 5 nursing classes so I guess I take what I can....regardless of how boring they are :).
So if you only take those 6 units you only need to pay the $1025 or whatever tuition, but if you want to take any extra classes then you have to pay the $2000... so thats where the 2k comes from. :)
