Is Anyone Applying For Or Has Applied For Csu Chico State Nursing Program???

U.S.A. California

Is anyone applying for or has applied for CSU Chico State's nursing program? I'm planning on applying for spring 08 and just wanted to know what the cut off points were. I'm so nervous about the whole point system. I've calculated/estimated my total points and it seems like I should be somewhere in between 83-85/100 points. Does anyone know if that's good enough? I highly doubt that's good enough to get me in. I'm just sooooo stress out about never getting in a nursing program soon.

From what I understand, the nursing program population tends to be different from the school's general population. Generally a little older

That said, the school population is melting pot. A lot of people from out of state-Seattle, Oregon, the mid-west, Southern California-.

But the whole Acata population is like Berkley. Very cultural, very hippie, lay-back. Don't need to do the whole face make-up, designer clothes, high-heels and stuff like san-Francisco or San-Jose. They have coffee shop with little bands playing live, a lot of theater and plays all over downtown, in fact the nursing school is in the same building as the theater.

Also, nursing classes are given all over campus, so you are not restricted to the nursing school.

The drive is soooooooo beautiful. There is an area where the Tree is so big that they cut a tunnel through it so cars can go through(true story). I was amazed.

And did talk about the BEACH, lol

I am so excited!!!!

...Just got my acceptance letter today for Chico...so excited/nervous. I am coming from Orange County. I have one month to move up there. Anyone need a roomate?? :wink2:

We should start a "roomate wanted" thread

Congratulations runningouttime, I'll see you in Chico if I decide to go there. As of today, I am leaning heavily towards Humboldt.

ya, I am going to Chico also and my fiance cannot come up with me for a while so I will be needing a roommate too! Oh I had a question, did anyone else have to pay the $2000 tuition fee that was due on the 11th? I saw it today and realized, huh I never paid this, but when I tried to pay for the tuition it said I had no balance due. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem, or if the tuition for the school is different for nursing students..... I just dont want to miss anything and not be able to sign up for classes! Thanks guys! And congrats to everyone who will be attending Chico in a month!

too bad, I don't have a dime to my name. Got no idea how I am gonna be paying for school. This is so crazy right! lol

I registered for my classes. They gotta wait for financial aid to kick in.

I haven't tried registering for classes yet. There must be some special circumstance for nursing students being that we pretty much found out our acceptance after the registration period. I am going to contact the financial aid dept for info.

Hey Future ER RN, how far are you from Chico?

I live in Rocklin (about 30 min from Sacramento) which is about an hour and 15 min away from Chico with no traffic. I hope that we get special accommodations for tuition since we had to pay it before we found out! runningoutoftime have you completed all your immunizations and cpr certification and everything? Do you have any extra classes GE or co-reqresuite classes left to take? I have no co-reqresuites left but I have to take an ethnic coruse and hope there are some left by the time we get to register..... And I was thinking about doing the Human Catastrophe theme which is U I belive. What about you?

I have no coreqs or GEs left to take. I hope all those theme classes aren't full yet. I was in community college for three years. Needless to say, I took every possible class that would be needed for the degree. I'm a little confused on how tuition is going to work. Orientation is not until late January. I hope to hear back from the financial aid office ASAP.

I think I have all the immunizations except TB. I'm not sure about the second MMR though (will need to find that darn yellow card somewhere!) I will need to renew my CPR sometime as well.

cool :) I had to get a blood titer done because the immunization card that my mom found from when I was little didn't have all of them on there. And I just completed my CPR class on wednesday.

I am in Sacramento. So it is about 1h30 with no traffic. where are you runningouttatime?

sorry about that runningouttatime, I thought you were talking to me.

Does anyone know of any scholarship that I need to fill out right now? I just found out that I am not eligible for financial aid, so I need something real quick.

Please let me know guys.
