Is anyone applying for or has applied for California State University, Chico State's nursing program? I'm planning on applying for spring 08 and just wanted to know what the cut off points were. I'm so nervous about the whole point system. I've calculated/estimated my total points and it seems like I should be somewhere in between 83-85/100 points. Does anyone know if that's good enough? I highly doubt that's good enough to get me in. I'm just sooooo stress out about never getting in a nursing program soon.
After attending the advising session i feel much worse about getting in, but also slightly confused.
Basically what I took away from it:
22 people were taken from the waitlist for fall, but this number is completely unpredictable.
Low 80's were admitted for fall, high 80's to low 90's expected for spring. (This i dont believe. It is being based on the fact that individuals who already have a bachelors degree can now apply.)
The health care experience is all over the place. One girl said she worked in a veterinary clinic for over 6 months, no certification on anything, but was "considered" a vet tech, and this was said to be acceptable for more than a point. And life guards, with no documentation except a letter from employer, are eligible for a point.
I'm completely unsure about where I stand at this point. I was hoping the requirements would be much more concrete.
I am also applying for the next semester and have 84 points as of right now, I am taking my TEAS in sacramento two more times to try to get my score up, in Redding all I know is you can take it at Shasta College but I have already taken it there four times and they will not give me any more codes, so sacramento here I go! UGH!

To Makayla D: your stat is good.
To Miket: you might want to retake the Teas test for being more competitive. but you would never know. As Makayla said, some semester the cutoff point is high and sometimes it's low. And they also will call back people on the waiting lists. (FOr my semester, if I don't remember wrong, I believe they called up to 14 ppl on the waiting list). so again, it all depends. i agree it might be easier to apply in the Spring too. So I guess you just pray for yourself and rely on lady luck a little bit then! ^^
