IRSC Spring 2016 hopefuls!

Published

Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.

I think it would be worth it to just go through the whole thing. I spoke to a person in nursing 3 the other day and I asked about the advance placement and he said the people that came in later struggled pretty bad.

I was just browsing this board and noticed this post. I might have mis-read this but if you are a CNA you don't qualify for advanced placement. It's LPN, paramedics, and respiratory. My advance (current student) don't skip it. You learn how to take the tests, care plans, and how to juggle your study schedule.

I declined the advance placement because even if you skip it you have to test out and do a skills test and a written test which cost about $160 each and if you fail you still start back from square 1. If you pass; the program length is the same. So what's the real benefit...? None. So I declined the advance placement and will start from the beginning.

It was in reply to CNA's going into the LPN program, not CNA's going into the RN program.

question do we really have to take the tabe test even even though I have my AA.

Yes, I was told because the Tabe test is a tool to test basic knowledge. Hope that helps. Call the nursing department still because everything changes rapidly with them. I was told that I still had to take it.

I finally got the email to go ahead and register for Nurse 1 class yeahhhh

is any one taking the tabe test in dec??

I am planning on taking it in December.

Does anybody know if any alternates have been accepted yet?
