IRSC Spring 2016 hopefuls!

Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.

Congratulations, when did you get your acceptance letter?

Never mind, I was wrong. I just went to add/drop and signed up for nursing classes. It was open to me so I assumed I was accepted, but assuming I'm not because I have a friend that wasn't even accepted as an alt and he can sign up for classes as well.

I was told by my nursing adviser that the tabe test was no longer a requirment

I was told by my advisor to take it. I wonder if that was a recent change.

Is anyone aware of good LPN-RN bridge programs? When I finish my LPN this coming year, I want to bridge to RN. IRSC makes you do the two years all over again, where as some schools allow a fast track program to the ADN. So far, I'm only aware of Valencia. Palm Beach will only fast track LPN students who received the LPN from their school. Anyone heard of one?

Nice, good to hear. See you, and everyone else on the 8th.

Random question. I know they provided us that little booklet to tell us what books we needed and what ones are nice to have, but I seem to remember them saying that some of the books in the nice to have section are required. Does anyone know the exact list of what books we NEED for the program? Or am I mistaken with saying that it's more than the first 6 books on the first page of that booklet?

Hi everyone! I just got accepted to the RN program. I was not even an alternate. In fact, I got my denial letter back in September. I just got a phone call yesterday to check my email and there is was! I am soooooo happy. With that being said, she said I need to respond to the email by Friday. Do I just email them back and say I accept??? Tried calling and the girl on the phone just said to send an email. Help!

What was your score if you don't mind me asking? I have a friend in a similar situation.

My NLN score was a 123 and my over all was 147. I am glad they called because I do not even check my student email because I am not even in any classes right now. I guess I will find out more on Tuesday at the meeting. The same thing happened to your friend??? She was not even an alternate? The weirdest thing!
