Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.

Hi Sydney! I am applying too! I am unable to attend the free review sessions as well but I have been studying at home. I am trying to squeeze in at least 2 hours a day a couple days a week. Just brushing up on my science and math. When do you plan on taking your test?

Hey I'm applying also. Last semester I applied but didn't get in I had an NLN score of 127 but I wasn't done with micro. This time around I am and my total score is currently 156 im wondering if that's good enough. If I retake the NLN and receive a lower score which one do they take? the most recent one, or the highest?

I would think they would take your highest score. I would call and see what they say. How did you study for the NLN. I am studying now and just going over science right now. Then moving on to math. Have you been to a nursing meeting yet? I am going this Thursday.

Yes Ive attended a meeting last year im unsure if I have to attend another one. and I purchased the red pax rn booklet for the nln and studied from their

I hope you get in this time around :). I am debating if I should apply for both programs (LPN and RN). Just if I do not get into the RN program, I don't want to be sitting around waiting. I haven't decided yet. Let me know what you decide to do on your NLN scores, if you are going to use your old score or retest.

Hopefully we both get in. I think applying for both would be a good idea. I contacted the nursing department and they said that they take the highest score so I'm going to retest.

That's great! Thanks for responding! I'm rooting for you both! This semester looks promising based on my grades thus far, but we shall see! My only "Plan B" is to apply until I get in. I'm taking the NLN on August 26th or 27th. I have the book also, just an older edition. And I'm praying. Pleas continue to be faithful..you can do it.

Ultimately I do not want to do the LPN because my main goal is the RN, but we will see :) Britika do you have any study advice for the NLN? I am studying the RN Pre-Entrance Exam book, just seems like so much. Was there anything on the test that stood out more to you? Any advice would be great! Good luck to both of you ladies :)

This is my first time applying for the progam. I will have all my prereqs completed by the end of Fall semester. I have been a LPN for 5yrs. I am currently taking MCB2010 for summer 2. I am so anxious about the NLN exam. I plan to start studying after Summer 2 is over because my Micro class is quite a crunch. So...that means i will only have 3 weeks to study it all. I am planning to take my NLN about Aug 25th 2015. BTW..I just regestered for my free NLN testing account. Is there any helpful tips ya'll can give? Any formed study groups?

I wish you all the best :nurse:

I'm in MCB2010 too, maybe you're in my class! Yes it is quite time consuming and thank God, I've been seeing good results, because I was intimidated in the beginning. Good luck and be sure to post here for updates! I'm sure everyone is really anxious and interested to hear about everyone applying. I know it's competitive, but I will get in with God's timing, and I wish the best with all of you!
