  1. @MidCareerNurse Thank you so much for your detailed response. Just finishing up my PMHNP program in Feb 2025 then I am planning to go there for FNP and DNP. I don't think the program will take less time. It's probably to keep accreditation they have to show that they're improving and innovating the program.

  3. Maybe buy the APEA book that's what I used to study along with doing lots of practice questions. The first year at Herzing was wonderful then it went south, maybe because the professor were so inconsistent after year 1, they try to hold you back, you will see when you get there. Even tho I passed the APEA exam I left and transferred to another school with better work life balance. I have 1 semester left to graduate at the school I transferred to. Thank God! Hopefully Herzing has changed for the better after firing the dean of the PMHNP program in January. Good luck!
  4. Well that was my experience that's why I left. That same month they fired the Chair of the PMHNP program that I was in. So it may be better now. Hopefully!
  5. Guys I am sorry, Herzing University PMHNP-MSN program is very very misleading. Please don't go here. I have a horrible experience and a year in the program I'm transferring to another school now. You are on your own with everything, no guidance, you find your own preceptor and they try to find every fault to deny your preceptor application, there are pop-up exams to fail you and kick you out of the program. They incorporate courses into the program and don't notify the students at all. All of a sudden you are blindsided and scrambling to study for an exam that wasn't even listed on your program guide. RUN!! from this school. This school doesn't care about student you are just $$$$ to them. In the middle of the course there is a 3P exam that no one tells you about so that you won't know to prepare for it and if you don't pass it on the 2nd try they stop all your progress and place you in a remediation class, but spoiler alert the remediation class has nothing to do with the 3P exam. On the final try if you don't pass you are dismissed from the program and they take half the tuition you have paid up to this point. It's just another gimmick to take your money and pay more money. This exam is listed no where on their website nor does the admissions coordinator tell you anything whatsoever about it. It's a big secret to fail student half way into the program! Please find a better school. You will be burnt out physically and mentally. You will have clinical rotation, have to do your clinicals notes and still have papers, discussion posts and other assignments due. This is ridiculous! Find a University that cares about students
  6. IRSC LPN Program for January 2024 Acceptance letters went out today. My son got his acceptance letter yayyyyy! I'm so happy.
  7. It is advised to get a part time or Perdiem job at a mental health center or detox center and you can use those NPs and MD as preceptors. That's what I did.
  8. You can still attend I just know that I want the degree at all cost and won't get discouraged no matter what they throw at me..I'm 11 months in already. 13 months to go. I got this ??
  9. Which school are you attending and when do you start. I'm doing 2 classes at a time. Subscription to CourseHero is a big help. You will also need a writing tool to help with Grammer and plagiarism. Honestly it's doable. Sometimes a lot of foolish busy work but I'm almost a year in already. I'm at Herzing
  10. I'm going to be honest with you. It seems like all these online schools are pretty much the same. I've been doing good at Herzing so far but I hate that we have to do the APEA exam as psychNP students, you have 3 chances to pass and if you fail them you have to repeat the entire semester no matter what your grade is in the course, even if you have a 99%. The school has hardly no guidance, you have to be self-sufficient and driven to succeed. The courses are not difficult. Discussion post, papers, and occasionally quizzes. Otherwise I have been taking it one day at a time and maintaining my 4.0 GPA so far. The school does not provide, nor help with finding preceptors either so you are on your own with that. I have been lucky and found preceptors at the hospital I work at and I've had success on LinkedIn by emailing random people who list themselves as PMHNP or psych doctors. I'm still working full-time and attending the program. It's doable but has its ups and downs. Sometimes very hard and sometimes easy. Roxanne, what is the reason why you want to transfer from West Coast University?
  11. This group aged like fine wine. Remember back when I just started out joining the ADN nursing program, now 5 years after graduation I'm in the MSN Nurse Practitioner program. Hope everyone is doing well
  12. Did any of you attended or complete this program, I'm interested in the PMHNP program?
  13. Sorry to hear your concerns but can you please enlighten us on what kind of issues you are having. I was just accepted into the program for Spring 2023. I have a 4.0 GPA from my BSN and I don't want to mess it up because I'm planning to do my DNP afterwards. I'd appreciate your reply thank you
  14. I'm looking for information also, I researched their website but I haven't seen how long the program is? On their website it says $675 per credit as of today. If anyone who graduated the program or is currently in it has any high-yielding feedback to share about the program such as the structure, format, exams, is the program fully online?
