IRSC ADN Spring 2013

Published

hi everybody!

it may be a bit early to start a thread for a program starting in spring of 2013, but i'm so excited and thought why not! anyways, i was enrolled in the adn program at irsc this past spring, but due to medical reasons, i decided to leave the program. now that i'm getting healthier i decided to get my cna license this fall and re-apply to the adnnursing program that starts spring 2013.

i learned a lot about irsc's nursing program, as well as the nln exam, so if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment because i would love to help out!

good luck to all of you!

@ Mariahrose ... You either have to prove that you have had the immunizations within the last seven years, or you need to have a titer drawn (a blood test) that shows that you test positive for the antibodies. Thats the way I understood it.

Ohh thank you for your help :) I decided to get the dtap shot instead of the pricey titers.

PDowling, I wish you luck on getting in...I really hope it works out for you.

Mariahrose...I didnt do the titers either I just went ahead and got the immunizations. I got my Hepitits started today too, drug testing...it is so much running around but it will be all worth it.

Thanks Bizzimommee! Yeah, Im hoping all of my running around isnt for nothing.

Do you guys know what the cost is for the titers? I know I need the tetorifice booster ... I was planning on having titers done for the rest ... maybe not.

Hellloooooo out there ...Does anyone know if ANY alternates have been accepted yet? It seemed like quite a few people didnt show up for the mandatory meeting ... just wondering. I dont know how many of us there are, or where I am in the ranking, but this is worse than waiting for the original letters to come!

PDowling...I am an alternate. My points were 228. Another alternate in my micro class has 227. how about you? i havent heard anything yet. good luck to you!

Ooooh noooooo ..... that does not bode well for moi! I have a 225. They are so secretive about alternate status ... it's like "Hello! We are not competing for spots on the secret service detail ... it's a nursing program!" Geeze! Anyway , thanks for taking the time to answer ... and best of luck to you! Hoping we will all be notified soon and this time next year be laughing about how we begged to be tortured in the IRSC Nursing program! :nurse:

I've heard that an alternate got notified of acceptance. Has anyone on here been notified?

PDowling dont loose hope the best you can do is to continue to get all the items u need done completed. Remember at the meeting they did say about 90% of the accepted always get their required items complete that leaves about 10% who do not...They also stated that it could even be up to the fist day of class you will be notified.

Has anyone taken their TABE as yet? remember you need to have a 12.9 in all areas!

Thanks for the nudge Bizzimommie. I am on track to getting the checklist completed as though I've been accepted. I didn't hear the part about only 90% typically getting the required items completed! Makes sense though ... so many specific dates, it would be easy to miss just one.... Patience .... my word of the month...

Christlee15, could you please keep us informed as to your alternate status? I am also an alternate and have a score of 227, so I would be very interested to hear if you get accepted. Your friend as well. I know 9 people that were at the first meeting did not come to the second. Also, I tried to count how many people were in the room 3 times and kept getting different results. Somewhere between 79 and 82. There are 70 people accepted, so 9-13 alternates.

Slstr2010, I also counted at the last meeting ... I got 82 also. At the meeting they said there were only 7 alternates ... dont know who the extra 5 people were ...
