IRSC ADN Spring 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Published

hi everybody!

it may be a bit early to start a thread for a program starting in spring of 2013, but i'm so excited and thought why not! anyways, i was enrolled in the adn program at irsc this past spring, but due to medical reasons, i decided to leave the program. now that i'm getting healthier i decided to get my cna license this fall and re-apply to the adnnursing program that starts spring 2013.

i learned a lot about irsc's nursing program, as well as the nln exam, so if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment because i would love to help out!

good luck to all of you!

I'm glad that you counted! I meant to, but I forgot! I never heard them say that there were 7 alternates...i totally missed that part. I also wonder what they do two alternates have the exact same score? I wonder what the tie break is? You know 9 people that werent at the 2nd meeting? I guess that would be great news for everyone if there is only 7 alternates! Lets keep each other updated, thanks again!

I don't personally know 9 people that weren't there. I just know that in the middle of the meeting one of the professors called 9 names because they hadn't picked up their $100 receipt at the beginning. None of them were there. I didn't hear them say there were 7 alternates either, but that would be very nice. When did they say that?

For the white shoes I didnt hear anything specific except no backless or croc style shoes. What about the clogs style with backs like "dansko"or "sanita" anyone know if those are okay? Or do they want tennis shoes like Nike, NB, etc? Scrub pants also wasnt touched on a lot, so I am guessing any kind just as long as they are white.

What did everyone register for today? Exciting times ahead!!!

Hey everyone! Congrats on your acceptance and good luck to the alternates. I was very fortunate to be accepted since I was missing 2 classes with labs: overall points: 239, NLN 157.

Reading the thread, my heart sank, bizzimommee, when you didn't get in! Then you did! :-) I can't imagine the emotional rollercoaster that was.

Anyway, I am one of the token old white dudes in the class and look forward to meeting everyone.

To the alternates: you KNOW there were dirty drug screens and felonies on background checks, and then there will be others that drop for various reasons, so hang in there!

Best regards,

Brett

Just wanted to give an update really quickly. I have officially been moved from an alternate to an accepted student in the nursing program for the spring of 2013! Yay! Turns out I had a 229 instead of a 227, but that hopefully gives other hopefuls a little bit of a clue as to their chances. I'm so happy!

Slstr2010 thats great! congrats. were you notified by rivermail?

Congratulations Slstr2010...See? Perseverance is the key...stay focused and keep you eyes on the prize it always pays off. Welcome to some hard work for the next 2 years....lol...again congratulations

Thanks you guys. I was notified by via rivermail. Good luck to the rest of the alternates! Mrs Hopkins seemed to think the alternates have a very good chance this semester. Also, boobear0299, my sister just graduated from the program and she wore white Sketchers Shape Ups throughout her time in the program. So regular tennis shoes or something along those lines are fine. She did not recommend those though. Lol

Congrats Slstr2010, and that's great news for the alternates.

Anyone signed up for the IRMC W 6:30-4:30 with George?

Physical, shots, and titers costed me a gamilliion bucks!

alternates, check your rivermail! i got in today!

just to be clear...we dont need the titer if the doc has our shot record and signs off on it...right?

Yeah Christlee15....congratulations....welcome aboard you will defintely have a happy christmas now...as long as there is hope there is always a chance...
