Introductions:"New" and "Old" Students.

How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Hey everyone, my name is Jessica and I live in NC. I am posting right under another Jessica! I just started my senior year of an ADN program and hopefully (fingers crossed) will graduate in December! I plan on going straight into a RN-BSN program, but need to get through the first part, first. I am working at a pediatric office right now as a cna and getting some great experience, although I am not sure I want to stay in peds, but maybe.

I have been married for 2 years to a wonderful guy, who supports me to no end and I can tell you, I don't think I would have made it this far without him. Although, half the time I know he has no idea why I am crying or frustrated or sooooo incredibly tired, he tries! I have 2 four-legged children, who keep me sane with a wag of their tail and a lick when I come home from a long day!

I am in my first med-surg class right now and I feel as though I am really learning alot. My CI is cutting the cord and letting us do some things on our own, which is scary, but they can't be with us forever, right?

Anyway, I am new here and I just thought I would jump on and meet all the people who are in the same boat.

We can all make it!

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Jessica

HI! I'm in southern FL, I'm a ADN student in my 2nd semester, med/surg, chem & humanities so it shouldn't be too bad *knock on wood* lol I am married to a very supportive guy (altho he refers to me as retirement plan lol) we have 3 kiddos, 11,10 & 8 and 2 4-leggeds, a cat and basset hound, I can't wait to just finish and then learn even more, I was incredibly lucky to get in first try so I only spent 1 year taking pre-reqs and getting most of my gen. ed courses out of the way, only a few of those left thank goodness

Well you have a hand full don't you!!!!:imbar You are lucky to have the supportive spouse! I can't wait either to start working as a full scope LPN, are the LPN exams in the states all multiple choice and senerios?

I'm not sure about the LPN exams other than at the college I'm at, the LPN's are all mulitple choice but they went thru the fundamentals book in 2 mos, we spent an entire semester on the same book, so farr most of the RN exams have been multiple choice

Hello everyone, my name is Stina, I am the mother of one 3 year old. I am 29 and like many this is my first time in college. I am scared to death but very determined. Will appreciate all the support and help I can get and give. I like this place already. Good luck to everyone!:welcome:

Hello, I'm Nicole and I will officially be a nursing student in 19 days!!:D I'm so glad I found this forum...I'm already addicted.

Hi! I also found this size just last night - it is night time now as well here in europe . I introduced myself somewhere here, but maybe I used a wrong space?

I am LPN and work in mental hospital with under age hard-cared patients. For 14 months I've done only night shifts. I intend to start nursing school in the autumn, in english language.

It is nice to have this kind of size, but I don't consider myself as an addict...yet... :uhoh3:

I look forward to add my knowledge of nursing and to improve my english skills. It is also relaxing to read about other nurses experiences.

Hello all,

Well I officially consider myself a nursing student now. I received my acceptance letter yesterday from Florida community college Jacksonville for the RN-ADN program that starts in May. I'm so excited!!!

Well lets see, a little about me... I am the mother to a beautiful little girl, Emily Grace, who will turn 2 in June. I am currently living with my parents while I finish school, who along with my sister give me a tremendous amount of support. I also have a great boyfriend who just finished his schooling down in Orlando where he also works. He comes up every weekend and is also a great source of support. I can't imagine doing all this without all of them.

I have to say I love this site. I've gotten lots of great information and love speaking to people who are in similar situations that can truly understand where I'm coming from. Would love to continue to meet new people and especially those who are also attending FCCJ.

So I'm really looking forward to the next 4 semesters or so. Can't wait to be a nurse!!

~Rachel
