  1. Hi I did apply during the same time and managed to get into the program in August 2016. I was transitioning from LPN to BSN, and as or right now I am completing semester 4 and moving onto semester 5 in May. Its been great so far, although I will say that semester 3 was terrible. But semester 4 was a huge turn around from semester 3, better teachers, better skills, and overall a much better environment. Good Luck on getting in.
  2. I am currently in the program, just finished semester 3. If you are great at time management and use your time efficiently you can work. I work almost full time hours in a nursing home at night and go to school during the day...totally manageable.
  3. I remember being in your shoes last year. I'm an LPN and was accepted into the LPN Access Program...it was tough but if you guys made the info session and were selected for an interview you will do amazing!!!! The interview for me felt like a job interview. They ask you about your strengths, weaknessess, and why should you be offered a seat over someone else, which is difficult to answer!! They ask about your financial stabilty, time management skills, communication skills, when your communication skills were challenged and how did this affect you, so self reflect. And say you are NOT going to work and you are going to be well supported!!!! They also ask how you relieve stress as the program is very intense. So brush up on stress management skills as well! Good luck!!!!!!
  4. It's still exciting!!!! Cant wait to get started!
  5. Its NURS 211, i think its only for the access program. We have our first exam the following week í ½í¸.
  6. Well, I start on Monday! I think the fast track starts on monday not 100% sure, I am in the LPN access program. Super excited...can't wait to be a full time student (as dorky as that sounds)!
  7. Hi Everyone, I was in the same boat earlier this year, I was accepted into the LPN Access program at UFV this fall (2015). I did, however, have 8 years experience as an LPN and all of my experience was in acute care. I'm sure this had something to do with my acceptance, and I had one reference from my PCC at Royal Columbian Hospital. I do know that your GPA also matters in terms of getting an acceptance letter, I did call the health sciences department and they really empasized on getting good grades. And at the information session, it was also mentioned that the applicants were selected based on GPA to get a "pass" for the info. session. There are so many applicants that I'm sure they have to draw the line somewhere. I only applied once and got in. Just to give you all a heads up, the information session states that they want you to write an essay, but I found it was three questions and you need to state your answer in a paragraph format. They give you approximatley 45 minutes to answer the three questions. And the questions they ask are different for LPN Access versus the BSN applicants. The interview was not what I accepted, if you do well in general interviews, you will do fine! My interview lasted 20 minutes, I didnt go overboard with my answers, I just answered to the best of my ability and the moved on to the next question.
  8. Getting immunizations has been so difficult for me!!!!! Ufv wants you to be immunized even if blood work states you are immune! Which makes no sense! so for those who need the diptheria, pertussis tetorifice & polio its a cost of $44. And for the TB its $45 at a travel clinic. Public health Clinics will not immunize anyone again if blood work states immunity, but travel clinics will for a cost, of course. UFV wants documents indicating when & where we were vaccinated. i didnt think this process would take so long!
  9. Check your emails I got my acceptance pkg. í ½í¸€
  10. I couldn't find the facebook group
  11. Ill be driving from surrey
  12. Yes I think we should start a Facebook group, I will be in the fast track second year and help you as you reach sevond year.
  13. I got an email from Oreg to pay the $200 deposit as well. No admission pkg. yet, I guess they are behind!
  14. The interview I found very easy, only because I've always made sure that I prepare prior to going in. I reviewed online sites for preparing for a university interview and read suggestions on how to answer questions I could be asked. You also have to be confident in your answers.
