So I applied for a job back in October and the job description was very vague. Well, Friday I received an email with details for a 2 hour interview with 6 directors for today. Well, upon reading the job description that was attached, I find out it is for management in information services. I am interested in going into information services, but really have no experience. I feel like a fool walking into this interview without any experience, but also don't want to cancel at the last minute because I am interested in this area...just not sure I am ready for management! My dh explained that they looked at my resume and should know I have no experience and they were still interested, but I am worried... What would you do?

Thanks!

I'd go anyway! The only thing they can say is no, you don't get the job. In the mean time, it would be great interview experience. and besides...you never know, right?

I agree.. At least you made an effort, and got some more interview experience.

Thank you for the replies. I am going to go and just hope they don't think I am wasting their time! I really feel like I should go because I eventually want to work in this department at this hopsital and it looks really bad to cancel! Thanks again!!

Perhaps they are looking for someone with a good attitude that they can train. You have nothing to lose so go for it. Please let us know how it turns out.

go with it....sell yourself...if you don't get this position, maybe they will keep you in mind for another...

This may be your step inside to this type of work. Good luck and hope you land that job to get you started in the field. If you work hard, you should be able to learn what you need to do to thrive there. Lots of people learn many aspects of their duties on the job.

Thank you to all of you for your support! I am off to shower and get ready for the interview! I will update you all when I get back!
