HELP ASAP!!!! I am actually looking for somebody who can help me with my application for Illinois Nurse Licensure. I am on the process of applying for NCLEX. I have registered on-line at CTS and presently gathering documents required. In line with that, cant find where I can get the fingerprinting card for illinois. Is this card to be sent together with my application forms or be sent to Illinois State Police with fee required? Is my CGFNS cert suffice for CES? Do they accept both IELTS or TOEFL? tnx! ;)

there are a lot of approved fingerprint vendors listed in the application packet. you have a choice where you wanna send it.. when i submitted my application form to CTS, they told me that i was lacking a fingerprint reciept and i need to submit the Fingerprint card to identix and submit the reciept to their office.

when i called identix before, they told me to send the fingerprint card with a bankdraft fee and just enclose a note to forward the reciept to CTS.. it's a waste of time if they will send it to my address here then im gonna send it back to US, right? they did send my reciept to CTS...

goodluck!

cgfns report - the only report required by cts from cgfns is the ces. nothing more. if you will recall when you applied for the ces report, you have to enter the report recepient. and that report is downloaded by cts themselves directly from cgfns. you dont have to send them any report. cgfns will send you an applicant copy (your personal copy) of the ces report.

as what i have told dcraneses before, a cgfns certification program certificate can be submitted in lieu of a ces report. i think it will be a waste of money if you will still apply for the ces knowing that you already passed both the cgfns exam and the ielts. i emailed idfpr regarding this confusion and this was their reply:

"if you hold cgfns certification status; you may submit your original cgfns certificate and we will return it to you. if you do not hold cgfns certification status; you will be required to comply with the ces report and proof of passage of toefl."

oh i stand corrected. i didnt know that cgfns certificate can be used in lieu of the ces report. although, i hold a cgfns certificate since aug23, 2006. i did request cgfns for my ces report. now, it came to my senses that i just waste $278 for the report! :smackingf such a waste of money. :sniff: it should have been spent for my nclex exam.

thanks praeclarus for the correction. :nuke:

if you had really wanted to work in illinois in the first place, i think getting the cgfns certificate, which cost over $400 (!), was the bigger mistake :-)

har har har

yes indeed!! $278 :( there goes the php 15,000...i didn't know myself. i just emailed them about it, because my aunt didn't apply for the ces anymore. she just used her cgfns certificate. i asked you about it in your previous posts, when dcraneses was inquiring about il licensure, but you didn't reply. anyway, you already paid for the ces, so, even if i did tell you, there wasn't much use anymore. i also wasted money with my licensure endorsement which i could have avoided. :uhoh21: hmmm..no use dwelling on that though. :wink2: lesson learned for both of us.

yeah... lessons we learned that we must pass onto others.... =)

My experience with the State of Illinois is that they are the most incompetent group of people on the planet....they lost my forms at least four times....but THEY CASHED MY CHECK EACH TIME....it cost me $275 to get reciprocity from Oregon in Illinois....when I didn't send money the second time....they claimed they couldn't process my paperwork until they received money....so then I sent money....then they said they didn't have the forms....it was maddening! I finally had to go all the way to the govenor's office to get my license ......no kidding.....I will never forget that dragon lady in the Nursing division....she was about as helpful as a wart on the butt of society....the govenor had my license on my doorstep FED EXED the day after I called his office....how pathetic...

I hope you have better luck.

I still have the numbers of the people to call if you ever need them....

Ha!

There is no such thing as reciprocity between states for licensure, only the NCLEX exam has reciprocity. Unless you are using a Compact License and have not moved from your home state. There is only an application for License by Endorsement, you will not find one for reciprocity.

Posting this for the foreign nurses that are here, as this site is under the International Forum and they have different requirements.

Illinois is well known for taking a long time for endorsement.
