Hi. I am a BSN graduate in the Philippinea and RN too. I am in California and planning to challenge LVN first before RN but the BVNPT is telling me that they require foreign graduates now to undergo credential evaluation agency but that is not posted in their site. And also they told me that it will take 4-6 mos for the foreign graduates eligibility. I am just afraid that later on they will tell me that i am not eligible. What do you think guys? Help me. Thanks in advance

Do a search on this site. There are numerous threads regarding the difficulties faced by nurses from the Phil wanting to work in California.

California has always done a credential evaluation
I see.. But my friend who had exam last year and same situation as me they didnt asked hin to have credential evaluation agency
They do their own. Unless it changed because of budgetary constraints
Maybe. I just hope i am eligible. They also told me that at this time they are processing december applicant and i send mine march and the clear my payment May..
How long do you think my application to be reviewed?

They are inundate with IENs not qualified for RN to BRN standards. 6 months is reasonable for credential assessment
Thanks

Like you I'm BSN graduate from Philippines and hold RN licence as well. Took my NCLEX Rn and become RN in NC but moved in CA without knowing that Filipinos having the concurrency problem. No school so far that willing to take me in to complete my MS & OB. I decided to apply to BVNPT it took about 5 months processing to get my ATT for NCLEX PN. took my exam on MAY 25th got my passing letter on June 5th sent my license fee June 6th now waiting for my license in the mail.
Go for it credential evaluation is probably new thing for BVNPT, but I don't think it will be a problem, you will qualify for sure to take the PN.
Goodluck!

As mentioned, it's due to the larger load of IEN's applying for the LVN license that can not get the RN ATT in CA. They have a limited staff and limited hours.
The new concern is the BVNPT does have the same concurrency requirements, it is so listed on their website. If the evaluation agencies starts to add that to the list of requirements, then the LVN route will be affected.
