I went there from 2003-2005. My experience at county was great but with the school all I can say is DISORGANIZED. But, like everybody else can tell you, the experience you get at the county hospital is like none other. If you can handle it there, you will do great anywhere! I am in Arkansas right now.
Where do they do their clinicals at?
I'm an LVN. Is the wait for it the same as the community colleges?
Don't know about the wait. But, you do your clinicals at county.

I regret to mention I don't have first hand experience with county but I know two people who are in the county program & both are happy with the educational experience. They do clinicals at USC/county, Olive View in Sylmar & Women & Children's Hospital in LA.

I graduated from there and I LOVE the program. Of course there are certain things I don't like about the program but over all I am extremely happy with my decision to go there. I was well prepare after graduation. Goodluck

I have also heard good things about the county program....you also will get preferance upon applying to a position with the county for any nursing position. I wish I would have attended a college program like that and not have 1000's in debt.

Hello everyone,
I just want to keep this inquiry fresh, so it would be nice if others who are attending or have attended LAC-CNAH would chime in. This is one of the schools on my list for application and I'd like to hear more, please.
My friend was a patient in their burn unit (not the school, of course but the hospital), and she expressed how pleased she was with the care she received and professionalism of the staff there.
Thanks in advance.

Hello there,
I am currently a student there and love it. The experience there is unlike any other you'll receive. I went to LVN school and we did our clinicals at private hospitals so I kinda knew what to expect as far as clinical rotation wise but when I went on the floors everything changed. You are the nurse for your patients. At some private hospitals the clinicals can be run a little differently giving you less independence but at this school you have your independence and at the same time the instructors are there to guide you. Interaction with staff can get trying at times but you will see stuff that you would have never imagined. Overall I think that this school makes for a great learning experience.
