Indiana State University BSN Thread for Current Students

Published

moderator note: this is a continuation of a previous thread that was very long and split by member request. this thread is primarily for current student discussion. there is another thread of faq: https://allnurses.com/distance-learning-nursing/isu-faq-thread-365878.html

we had to take micro, stats, math, biology, couple of humanities, etc, etc. maybe she meant that's just the one specific to nursing, as in in addition to the rest of the gen eds? anyway, good luck on both your applications!

Are you talking about the assessment class? Can't remember which nursing course it is. Do you work with any RNs? I just asked one of my uncle's co-workers.

Hi! I'm a newbie here and I read your posts. I just want to know how long is the nursing program for you (not counting doing the prerequisites). Also, is it hard to get a preceptor to be approved by ISU? Are most hospitals cooperative with the clinicals?

Have anybody tried Henry Mayo in Santa Clarita? Do they accept ISU students?

I would like to hear from any nurses from Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita, CA who are currently going through the ISU program. I understand there are a number of you in the ISU program. Best :clown:

hi megan. i want to know if you already heard from the nurses in henry mayo hospital in the ISU program because i'm thinking of getting it as my clinical site too.

I live in los Angeles and about to start the classes. Can anyone say how many clinicals there is and when are we expected to start them.

If you click on the name of the nursing courses listed at http://catalog.indstate.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=10&poid=1597&returnto=234 you can see which ones have a clinical component...and if you look at http://www.indstate.edu/nursing/pdfs/advising-worksheet/advising-worksheet-LPN-BS.pdf you can see when you take the courses.

Hello EVERYONE,

I am new to this site. I am curious to correspond to others that have taken the 4 CSM's required in PhaseII. I would like to know if anyone has any study pointers they are willing to share?? I am waiting for my acceptance into the school. My transcripts are already submitted.

I am looking for advice from anyone that has taken any of the test for module NSG106, NSG 224, NSG 328 or NSG 330? I did not purchase any study material from TCN but pplan to meet with them next week but I have read here that the material may not be very helpful, Can anyone shed any light on what they have found that works?

Hi everyone! Can I use ATI RN review modules to study for the challenge exams instead of purchasing study guides on college network? Thank you!

Hi Scorpio82,

That is a great question, I would like to know the answer as well!

Thank you for such a great post. Lots of good info.

I linus, i too talked to ISU and they also suggested me to contact TCN. But i went a head and applied for ISU admission and transferred my prereq classes... Then i went on ISU My Portal for students and got an audit for the degree. I'm from Garden Grove, CA. If you're live close. Please PM me. I'm hoping to find someone near...

Hi. I am from OC and lived in Garden Grove for a few years. I now live in the IE. It's great to hear from someone more local, since this is a national site and everyone is scattered over the US. I am working on my pre-reqs and am in my last semester of the LVN program at a community college. I am starting to study for the 4 challenge exams one by one and hopefully apply for Fall 2011. What phase are you in?

Hey Cindarent,

I am in Nor Cal, in phase II. I missed passing 2 of the CSMs by 2 questions each... very frustrating.

Anyways, I was going to apply for phase 3 in Nov, but now I have to wait until the next round. This thread is VERY helpful with navigating ISU and TCN. Look at the old messages for help :)
