Calculator for TEAS?

I can't seem to find an answer about this question: when taking the TEAS, is the use of a calculator allowed? I have the study guide and it doesn't say anywhere. It seems like it would certainly be helpful for the math part.

Hi csab!

I actually took the TEAS test on March 20 and we were not allowed to use a calculator! It specifically says it on the ATI website under FAQs. We had to do the paper/pencil version of the test which made the math section fly by because you are busy trying to add in your head!! just be aware to manage the time given to take the math portion! Good luck!!! :wink2:

Not unless you have a learning disability that your accommodations require. They do not give you scratch paper either, you have to use the margins in the booklet to do any calculations.

Holy crap, they don't even let you use scrap paper? So if you are doing it online (not pencil/paper), you get nothing to write on?

The whole ATI website is down right now. I was going to look into doing the online practice test but none of it works right now.

The testing center will give you several pieces of scrap paper

This is not true for booklet tests. It says right in the directions that scratch paper is not allowed. However, this is for the paper pencil (fill in the bubbles) test. I did not know that they offer it on computer now. I suppose they give you a limited amount of scratch paper if they do.

I've taken the TEAS at the Bloomington campus twice this year. I was allowed 3 pages of scrap paper (they supplied it) and pencils. Nothing else.

I've taken it three times. At Ivy Tech, it's computerized and you're given three sheets of orange scratch paper and two pencils.

No calculator, you could probably get more scrap paper if you need it, but you probably won't.
