Don't worry about the leaflet. I found I had passed my boards on 7/14. I received that same leaflet a couple days ago. Just advertisement I suppose! I just threw it away!

NCLEX: Do Not Be Discouraged!
Hi All!!! I wanted to come on here and share my nclex story now that I have had a nice long 2 week vacation!!! So I have to admit that I didn't spend as much time studying as I now wish I would have! I began studying back in June after I graduated from my ADN program. I started off with Hurst & Saunder's Q&A. I work full time so it became clear studying was not going to be easy. In the beginning, when I got home from work I tried to at least do 3-4 tutorials from Hurst and 100 Q&As. Toward mid June I began to really just relax & not do what I needed to!!! My studying had become not existant! I had started hearing from other classmates that they were passing at the 75 ? mark & I began to feel confident that I too would be one of these! A week before my test date I did the whole cram thing that seemed to work well in school! I began using many different materials with no real schedule on studying them! On the day of the test I woke up super early to be LA traffic and grabbed a cup of coffee. I did not bring any snacks or anything to drink. I pretty much had the intention of leaving the facility within an hour and passing at 75 questions!!! So I got checked in, was seated at the computer by my proctor and began the ever so dreaded NCLEX! I was cruisin thru the exam and finally got to question 75!!!! I was so excited to be done and then I clicked the next button and it went on to question 76!!! I immediately started crying right there in the booth! I pulled myslef together and the test kept going. In fact it didnt stop until I hit 234. THAT'S RIGHT 234!!!!!! Needless to say I walked out of the test and was crying my eyes out. Called my mom & yes I told her I think I failed! I got home an hour later & did Pearson Vue Trick & I got the good pop up!!!!!! My anxiety was a little more at ease but I still wasnt sure if it was true. I waited the weekend & by Monday my name had still NOT been posted on the BRN! I began to panic!!! waited another day.... still no name. I finally called the BRN & they let me know that they have not entered my transcripts!!!!!!!! I asked to be transferred to the Evaluator's desk and she immediately put my transcipts in! Next day I see my name on the BRN!!!!:heartbeat I am so proud and excited to say i am officially a RN!!!! Sorry for such a long post but I really wanted to share with everyone my experience and want to tell those that did not stop at 75 to not be discouraged because it doesnt alway mean its the end!!! Congrats to all of you who have passed and good luck to all who are getting ready to take it!

Affording Nursing School: What did you do?
Hi ALL!!! I just found out i was accepted to nursing school:yeah:! I work full time at a hospital where i receive full benefits (health, dental and vision). i am considering not working and being a full time student but i worry about not being covered. My quesiton(s) to you all those is nursing school: 1) How are you affording nursing school? Are you currently still employed? 2) If you had to leave your job how are you getting medical coverage? These two things are keeping me really stressed as i have no idea what to do about either. I was told to take out a loan for the 2 years i will be in school but i worry about healthcare coverage. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Calculator for TEAS?
Hi csab! I actually took the TEAS test on March 20 and we were not allowed to use a calculator! It specifically says it on the ATI website under FAQs. We had to do the paper/pencil version of the test which made the math section fly by because you are busy trying to add in your head!! just be aware to manage the time given to take the math portion! Good luck!!! :wink2:

anyone think actual teas test was easier than online practice tests?
I actually thought the TEAS test was pretty difficult... I felt like a lot of what was asked were things i learned in 8th grade. Had they asked questions on Anatomy, Physio, or Micro for the Science section i would have aced it!!!! Suprisingly the part i did the poorest was MATH!!!! I found that the TEAS practice manual did not help too much as far as the math and science section went! Overall I scored an 81% which i was very pleased with because i left the testing room feeling not so confident!

Getting into Nursing School: Please Reply
Hi All, I am a pre nursing student in California. I have finished all my prereqs and applied once in August 2008 and unfortunately did not get in. I have applied to 2 schools so far in February 2009 and I am still waiting to here back. My question is: For those of you that have successfully got into nursing school how long did it take to get there? Any help would be appreciated :redbeathe
