In your opinion, how difficult are NCLEX SATA questions?

I'll be taking my boards in under two weeks. I'm comfortable with all question formats except the flippin' SATAs. I'm starting to tear myself up over these because I just flat out suck at answering them.

Currently I've been doing Kaplan and questions out of a Lippincott book that just has alternate format questions.

How many SATAs did you have on your exam, and how difficult would you rate them as being? Any tips for getting my butt in gear to pass "The Beast" in a few weeks??

I had 26/75. Not. fun.

Look at them as a series of true/false questions and they're a lot easier to tackle.

Which books have a lot OF SATA to review?

Hi, good luck on your exam soon, about the SATA questions its really hard just don't over think it too much sometimes the answers are obvious but your mind says otherwise haha its because you see everything in the SATA question that they tend to look all correct most of the time, but you can do it!! As for me i gotta try my exam again gotta wait for 45 days :p

I took and passed the NCLEX in February of this year in California. The computer cut off at 75 questions, 1/3 of them were SATA. Treat SATA questions as true false questions. For example, read the question/statement, then read each of the selections as a true or false. If the selection is false, then don't check it, if it is true, then check it. Practice, practice, practice. You may get more comfortable with the SATA the more you do them. Blessings on your test.

MissHaleyDawn - I took the NCLEX on 6/14/12 and had 21 SATA questions/142 total. I passed! The thing you need to think about is that SATA questions are well above the minimum competency line, and you only are expected to get 1/2 right to pass. I did the Kaplan alternative style questions and Davis Q&A book that had a lot of alternative form questions. The best thing you can do is take a deep breath and know that you can do it!! Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

I hated SATA's but once I looked at the answers as an individual true or false answer to the root question it got much easier to decipher which ones applied. Take them as a True or false..if its true..it 'applies' if its false it doesn't :)

I had at least 20 SATA and all of them were complete guessing. Nothing easy about it. Luckily I passed but lord....

I just took nclex friday (june 15th). i got my first SATA on question #3 and i kept getting them until question number 14. then i got them every other question throughout the rest of the test. i thought some of the SATA were easy if you knew your content but then on others i felt like i was guessing. i knew when i got it wrong because the next question would be a one answer choice. in all i got about 20-25 SATA. My last question was a SATA and the computer cut off at 75q. did the PVT when i got home and today i saw my name and license number on the Alabama BON!!

I take it next Tuesday and I never do well on the SATA questions. I need practice and I need to try this advice of treating them as T/F. EEK!

Good Luck all!

hi everyone...i just took my test friday got good pop up, just waitin for result to come.. i got tons of SATA. in order to get those question correct just pick one answer at a time and answer it true or false, never go thru all answer and then pickin which is right or which is wrong. hope this will help. just practice it.

Congrats to you all new RNs And LPNs! About the SATA, when you guys wer reviewing did u review by test mode or review mode (were u would know if you got it right or wrong immediately)?
