I'm a pre nursing student and I'm taking my prereqs for the Lpn program at a local cuny college. I failed biology and I got a C in eng. they told me I can't take my biology once I fail the class and I need to retake my English class because I need a B-. I'm so stressed because I did not intentionally fail the class I was going to drop the class and take the course again next semester. And then they tell me I can't take biology again. It this right? Is this fair? I pay for my tuition , I deserve a second chance they said I'll be kicked out of nursing program if I don't get a c and I can't retake it. I've never retake the biology class. I've only retake the English and they're saying I can't retake the biology class. I feel like my life is over because I don't see myself doing anything else beside nursing. I'm so stressed and really need help it's not fair that I'm not given a chance to take it again I've come this far to get to where I am now and I could possibly be kicked out it was all a misunderstanding please help
They're not letting me take biology again which I think was absurd. I might get a D or lower because I haven't been attending class cause I have a hybrid class and a bad professor and I didn't know I had to drop the class to do it. Now I'm trying to catch up but i only have one week to do it. I'm doing good in my other class but they want me to retake my my English class. But they said I can't retake it my biology class too. I'm so frustrated. I've worked so hard and took many classes to get to where I am now and they said I could be kicked out of a nursing program. I think it's not fair I'm not given a second chance or a chance to improve. I pay for my tuition and I deserve a second chance. Please I need anyone's advice

So you stopped attending class and thought that was ok? Did you just think they would assume you had dropped the class? Nursing is a job that requires a lot of responsibility and your actions unfortunately show a lack of responsibility.

*sigh*
You actually think that because you pay tuition you are owed a second chance? Do you think this idea should also apply to those in medical school or law school?
And you indicated in another post you are taking prerequisite courses so you aren't *in* a nursing program to be kicked out *from*.
Deciding an instructor is bad is a silly reason to just stop attending, and it would have been better to seek help with the course.
Which other class are you taking in which you are doing well?
Is English your first language? I ask because if it is, that's one of the easier prerequisite courses. Microbiology, anatomy, and physiology are often difficult for many students. And hold on because nursing courses can make those courses seem like a cake walk.
I have no advice for you; just shaking my head at the idea you are owed a second chance.

"I've worked so hard."
I do not think that means what you think it means.

Unbelievable.
"I skipped class" = "I'm failing?! How dare they? It's not fair!"
Responsibility 101: you fail. Own it. Stop whining. Move on.

Yeah no. I just can't leave this alone. New account, hot topic. Welcome to AN's newest troll. If we don't feed it, it will starve and die.

Every school has some policies as to what courses can or cannot be retaking on how many times. If If they say that you must retake the English and get a B- and that's what you have to do. Lice isn't fair. Not everyone who wants to be a nurse makes it. You can always try for other schools. But you'll have to take the classes that they have designed as prerequisites for the nursing program. Not sure what kind of responses you expect on this Internet forum. pretty much you're going to get the same response that I gave you that every school has their own list of courses that you have to take whatever hoops they create you got to jump through them if you want to be a nurse. also keep in mind if you transfer to another school those grades that you earned it this for school will follow you they will want to see the transcripts and so that F in biology they will see it.

You worked so hard? By your own admission you stopped going to classes so I am thinking you didn't work at all.

You need to accept the consequences for your choices in not attending a mandated pre-req class. Just because you didn't like the professor or didn't research attendance or class withdrawal policies is not a reason to get a second chance. As an adult learner you need to take responsibility for your choices and actions. Are you going to not go to work if you think the preceptor is mean? Are you going to skip out on clinical if you don't like your patient?
The advice: Accept responsibility and the resultant consequences for your bad choices. You're likely going to fail
"I am now and they said I could be kicked out of a nursing program."
You are not in a nursing program yet, you said you are prenursing. Sounds like you are "twisting" the facts?
