Hi I'm Joyce,
I'm not really new.. i've been a lurker for a while now and decided to join your amazing community here.
Anyways, I'm taking my test a week from now.
I've been studying for a month straight now. I started reading the NCLEX Exam Cram for PN. I found it very helpful but i'm having difficulty concentrating. So I decided just to do the questions on the cd.. I do about 200-300 questions a day on the exam cram cd by category. I finished the cd yesterday.
Also, additional to that I've been doing the Saunders cd as well by content. I haven't read a book since, just for content review when i dont know something.
Do you guys think it's enough? what i'm doing right now? Should i reschedule and read the book as well?
Pls help me..
Thank you so much!

I just took the test last week. It was very very hard. You really should actually read the exam cram book, you need to know a lot. The questions are not just recall like in school, you have to apply knowledge from several areas. A question will ask about a pt who has a certain ailment, is on certain meds and has a certain problem so you need to know the symptoms of the ailment (disease) the usual procedure and the complications and the medications and their dosage and side effects, all before you can answer a question about it! I graduated #1 in my class and I thought it was hard, so you can decide from there. Especially read the rationals in the back of the book. Good luck! :)

I just found out today that i passed the NCLEX-PN i took it on friday
my advice is to do as many practice questions as you can, get into the habit of figuring out the answer by critically thinking them through
i found this test to be very hard and stressful
btw.. i only truly studied for 2 days prior to my exam.. only because i got lucky and got in really quick
I used the saunders study book and cd.. there were a lot of questions i was able to see the rationale and strategy for each one.. i think it helped!!
good luck

You know if you feel prepared or out in left field. Go ahead with the test or reschedule if you do not feel adequately prepared. Best of luck!

hey joyce, my advice would be to read/understand the topics more and try to understand and i mean really understand the reasons for the rationalizations. if im not sure how many topics there are for the PN exam, but a month may or may not be enough. if you feel you are ready you will know. in my case, a week before the exam, i was so excited to take it that i didnt even study anymore lol i just chillaxed and played games and read a little saunders here and there
Hi guys! thanks for replying! i really appreciate all you guys' advices. Right now, I'm almost done with the Saunder's cd. I only need to do the Pharm section and i'm done. so after that I'm to read the Exam Cram book for two days before my exam. of course I won't do it the day before the exam. cuz I'm thinking I should relax that day. Anyways, what do u guys think?
just chill the day before the test. eat, have fun, whatever you do to take the stress off. after all, in my experience no matter how many questions you do, around 95% of it wont even appear in the exam. thats why understanding the topics more is better than just taking hundreds of questions.
gooooooooooodluck!!!!!

I think what your already doing is fine.
Focus more on doing questions from cd's then reading from books!!

Hi guys! so I just took my test today and all I can say is that it was hard! nothing like the cd questions... at then end I felt like I failed it.
but when I did the Pearsonvue trick, I got the pop-up saying :
