So i just finished my first semester and did pretty horrible. I was aimming for all staright A's but ended up having A- and B- yeah so my average GPA is 3.15 i got 81 (B-) on A&P and B+ on basic chem A on trigs...now adays its so competitive to get into nursing program, most people either have 3.5 or higher i don't know if I should take the chances and continue taking the pre requisite on spring'17, do hesi test and apply for the program or i should start thinking about other majors..reading some posts over here got me thinking if ill really get in the fall 2017 program cuz even some people with 3.3 didnt get in the program and in my school they strictly look for good hesi scores and GPA..Anyone like me ever got into the program please comment below

What kept you from getting an A in A&P? Did you understand the material but missed a lab or a few quizzes?
Right, but I'm wondering how many opportunities you have to raise your GPA - meaning other classes you're required to take before you apply.
Yeah i missed two lab quizzes and the class itself was hard
My advisor told me to apply after i complete fall semester 2016 so i can be in program by next fall 17 because i met the requirement to apply and take the HESI i still have take other pre requisites; A&PII, stats, pharmacology and psych on spring
So i dont have any opportunities to raise my GPA before i apply
I would take the classes in the Spring and see where that puts your GPA, then decide what to do from there. If you can raise it up, apply for Spring 2018.

I am sorry but a couple of Bs is not the end of the world. I know many, many students having gotten accepted into the nursing programs ith many Cs. Try to consider ADN as well as BSN programs.

you still have four more serious classes to take and if i were you you I wouldn't cram them all in a spring semester because that may cause you to get lower grades. If you can split those classes into two semesters such as spring and summer that way you have a better chance of getting As. don't rush it if its really what you want. As you can see your grades wasn't what you wanted when you packed three hard classes together. Stop worrying about the time frame. rushing can make you suffer in the long run. good luck and i wish you the best

Remember it doesn't matter how long it takes, it only matters if you achieve the goal! You can do it and never give up.
