Welome to all you newbies! This is a fun, comical and VERY useful forum but it's pretty quiet in the summertime. Come school it will be hopping!

congrats! I'm re-joining school nursing after working in a hospital for a little while and being a SAHM for a little while. Trying to get back into the swing of things.

Hey all! I posted here awhile ago, but haven't posted much lately. I was a long term sub last year that got hired full time for this upcoming year. I cover 2 schools: pre-k to 8th, and elementary (2nd-5th).
I'm REALLY looking forward to it!

Hi I am also going to be a new school nurse! I am so excited! I am coming from Urgent Care and being a family practice for last 6 years!
Super excited but there's a lot that will be different I am sure. I can't wait to talk to everyone here.

I am hoping to join this club soon! I have an interview for a full time school nurse position on July 25th (Wish me luck!) and will leave nearly 3 years in a Level III NICU. Super excited to try something new and you can't beat the schedule. Certainly beats my current one: 12 hour day/night rotation and every third weekend. :)

Congratulations!
I am leaving my job (well----staying PRN) from a large teaching hospital in a big city to be school nurse in same district my kids attend. I am both excited and nervous! Not sure what to expect. From what I gathered in interview with the principal, there aren't any kids currently with high needs. I have orientation in a few weeks. New employee orientation, then two days of nurse-y stuff. Then a week of back to school before the students start. Not sure what that will consist of.... Any ideas?
