Nowhere else is it permissible to crack up over a death. Nowhere else are gross things normal. Nowhere else can I vent about a ream of awful prima donna patients without being told I have no compassion.
Y'all know who you are. And thanks.

Actually, WE hijacked the thread. She made one comment that was pretty much ignored for pages and then someone's back got up.
How's this for a second t-shirt idea? Any additions?on a black t-shirt or sweatshirt:
1. Must have already passed state board exam (not nclex)
2. Must remember: glass iv bottles, bedpan hoppers, bulk meds
3. Must have eaten at least one whiny young student
4. Must have helped many many young nurses and students
5. Must have shed buckets of tears after the family leaves
6. Must have helped one young md when he hesitated too long
7. Must remember how to calculate iv flow rate w/o machine
8. Must wear heavily starched underwear when on duty
9. Must remember cuban heels clicking down the hall
10. Must have a permanent bunk in the bat cave
Took the NCLEX when you had to pass more than something like I dunno, 24 questions?????
Like with a PENCIL AND PAPER.....!!!! and you had to KNOW something!!!
Mine was the 2 day exam..I think maybe 250 questions on morning and afternoon BOTH days!! for total of 1,000 questions...and the computer didn't stop you when it hit 75...and you could only take it twice a year at certain venues in your state!! And it took something like 6 months or so to get the results.......ahhhh, good times....................
(order me an xtra large-but I don't wear starched underwear anymore)
Hmmm... I'm not quite sure. My great aunt fran (according to family legend) wore heavily starched long sleeved uniforms, white hose, cuban heeled oxfords, and undies and cap with starch. Starched within an inch of their lives starch. Broke on the rare occasions she sat stiffly starched.
An old bat? Fer sure!
Today, ironed would probably make the cut.
