I am sorry about that. Can you take it in the Fall? I took stats during a winter session: 10 classes. I passed but it was too fast for me. Taking it during the fall would not be so intense.
Good luck

stats suck.

[color=#483d8b]i love calculus, so i'm a math geek. and stats suck.
[color=#483d8b]i'm embarking on a new career, and i'm really, really, really, hoping that the biostats class i took in college the first time around will suffice.
[color=#483d8b]'cause i hate statistics, and don't know if i can do it again.
[color=#483d8b](not any help, i know. just to let you know that you arn't alone. drop it if you have to, but try to get through it so you don't have to take it again.)

same here. loved calculus and physics but hated loathed stats.
drop it if you're failing and look at it this way: if you didn't drop it and still failed you'd lose money because you would have to take it again.

Also, dropping a class won't hurt your GPA & failing it would. Just something to consider :), good luck to you!

I'm taking micro and stats and world geography. If I thought I would be able to devote more time to stats during a different quarter I would drop anow and take it later, but I don't the the luxury of excess time in my schedule.
I'm in the same boat you are--micro and stats are making me a prisoner to studying. Look at it this way, if you have to take the class anyway you might as well keep going and keep up your crazy study habits. Go in for extra help if that is what it takes. BUT if you know deep down in your gut that you can't pass the class there is no reason to keep taking it.
My advice to you is not to quit just because it's difficult and time consuming. Think about what you will have accomplished if you pass both classes. What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger.

Stats was the pits, I did not drop even though I was stressed. I hired a tutor and it helped me pass with a B. If it was not for the extra help with the aid of my tutor I would have failed. Good luck, better to drop then to fail!
thank for all the replies!! i have just about decided to do it summer 2 and just take one class and focus 100% on this dumb math class to get it over. i am starting my last year of my bachelors degree this fall and am taking a full load ,so i don't want to drown again!!! i am confident that if i take it by itself in a summer session i can conquer it... but it's good to know that i am not the only one that has had trouble with this class.

Oh I can so relate! I just finished Stats and Chem 101 this semester and hated BOTH classes! I thought about dropping one of them more than once, but I missed the deadline so I stuck it out. To make matters worse, my husband just deployed so I'm the only one to take care of our 7-year old plus I'm pregnant and suffered from severe morning sickness throughout most of the quarter. It was a nightmare! I had a perfect 4.0 for all my pre-reqs before, and now I ended up getting a 3.0 in Chem and a 3.2 in stats. It's enough to get me into the program but I'm still not very happy about it. Oh well, just glad it's OVER! And yes, I LOVED Algebra but Stats is a totally different animal. Just be sure to NOT fall behind like I did when I couldn't study because I was stuck bent over the toilet half the day. If you can keep up you should be fine!
Good luck!

What does statistics deal with? Is it very difficult?
It's a bit hard to expain... it really only involves fairly simple arithmetic but all the different formulas and abbreviations are confusing. The whole concept is convoluted and just plain complicated (IMHO).
Here is an explanation from wikipedia:
