I got the job!
The money is excellent for up here, I get my own office, I work human hours with weekends off unless we have a system issue, and I am excited!
I start Friday!
I got my physical and peed in the cup so I'm good to go.

We're apparently a rare breed.:)

Congratulations! This sounds so nice for you. Please feel free to add whatever celebratory graphics seem appropriate, as I seem to have reached my level of maximum proficiency with the demon boxes.
Okay, well maybe I'll try a smilie::w00t:

a piece of advice - continue on-line for your rn. that helped me a lot. even though i don't have it yet it matters. and do a year of clinical, even passing meds in a nursing home.and you'll do it. no question.:)thanks, everyone. i am so excited.
and you'll do it. no question.

yup thank you so much sue. i already have the fundamentals and med-surg books for ec so hopefully i can start focusing on it when i passed my nclex-pn. i am still doing all the exit exams right now.

Thanks again, all.
Angel, I'm done with all of the tests. Now I'm waiting for a CPNE date and have already cleared taking time off for the workshop and CPNE and NCLEX-RN.
I plan on continuing for the RN-MSN in clinical informatics.
Man, I am STOKED!

I was a network engineer for 10 years prior to becoming a nurse (well graduating in march) How much time do you have to spend in nursing before this would be an option? or what other training might I need if/when I decide to switch gears from med/surg?

:w00t::cheers:People told you that you had this thing in your side pocket!! I can untwist my hair, now! Congrats, my friend!
You'd need a year of clinical, max.
Of course, it depends on where you are. The ad read "BSN preferred," but the DON here is a diploma nurse.
I had NO training for this at all, just a programming background with a diploma from The Chubb Institute.
