I got my acceptance letter to Case Western CRNA 2010 this past sat. Is there anyone else out there that will be in my class??:yeah::p

Specializes in CVICU / Open heart recovery.

I am applying to Case Western for Fall 2011, just wondering if anyone would feel comfortable sharing their age, GPA, GRE score and years/location of experience. Thanks!

I'm also wondering the same thing as kuhRN. I'm very interested in Case Western Reserve, just wondering if I would be a competitive applicant.

Just some friendly advice: You are more likely to get an opinion on your chances if you post your statistics. Good luck.:)

Hi. Good luck with your application process! I have been a nurse since 03. I have worked only critical care in SICU, MICU, SCVICU, NICU. I worked at CCF for 4 years in ther open heart ICU, and did some agency travel as well. I took the MAT not the GRE, and I have a 3.85 GPA. Good luck!! :)

I am 21 years old (will be 22 when program starts) and will have like 18 months of experience in a 34 bed ICU (we take surgery, medical, neuro patients). My GPA is a 3.4 and my GRE combined is 1000. I am also involved in a pretty big research project in my area that is grant funded by the CDC. My biggest concern is my GRE score. Should I take it again?

For Case/CCF, more experience would be helpful, as would a couple of As in a graduate level science course. If you do retake the GRE make sure you work hard at improving your score by setting aside lots of study time for it. I've seen studies that suggest that it is very hard to improve your score much. Get certifications- CCRN, CMC, CMS, ACLS, PALS, IABP, etc., etc.! Of course shadow a CRNA, several if you have time. Try to talk with the PD to get their advice. Above all, be able to clearly articulate why you want to be a nurse anesthetist and what you like about the profession.

A good start would be to read one of the many books on the history of nurse anesthesia. Lastly, your CV must be flawless!:)

I'm getting excited can't wait to meet you guys!

:uhoh3:I have applied and am waiting to see if I am granted an interview or not. Does anyone know if everyone who applies gets interviewed? I would hate to think that they would interview you when part of your application is not acceptable-that would be a waste of everyone's time. How long does it take once your application is forwarded to the crna school does it take to find out it they want to interview you???? Thanks to all

I've been told that everyone does not get an interview. My interview is Sept 21st. I applied at the end of July. Call the admissions office if you have any general questions. They were helpful to me.

It takes up to 4 weeks to hear if you are going to get an interview or not. You first have to meet the requirements of getting into Case to pursue grad study there, and then your application is off to the anesthesia department. Hang in there! :)

can u tell me the total cost of attending CRNA school in CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY.

From what I have seen and figured out based on the website, I am thinking around $70,000. If anyone knows differently, let me know. I have been comparing Univ. of Akron and Case. Univ. of Akron is around $35,000.
