NO!!!! NO!!!! I would not "work". I have worked 2 and sometime 3 jobs at a time for the past 21 years. If I won the lottery I would buy an RV and travel. I would see something of this country besides the hospitals and nursing homes. In between trips, I would do volunteer work at the nursing home I do prn at. But, that would be because I WANT to...Not because the schedule says I have to be there that day.:rotfl: Which does remind me...gonna stop and get a new ticket on my way to work today. hehehe
I'm confused. Why does the Re: line change on post #32 from "If you won the lottery..." to "You won $1 million..."
That changes things for me. I wouldn't quit working if I "only" won $1 million. I know the word "only" sounds ridiculous, and would sound even more ridiculous if you had any idea how little my salary is, but really, if you won that amount and spread it out over 20 years, you'd probably only get $30K-$40K a year. If you took it as a lump sum, you get even less. If you had to start paying for your own health coverage, it wouldn't leave much $ left over for the finer things in life.
I don't know how much I'd have to win before I could quit work, but the first thing I'd do if I ever did win the lottery (unlikely since I hardly ever even play) would be to see a certified financial planner.

I would volunteer my time and nursing skills to a free clinic. Definitely.
