I'm confused. Why does the Re: line change on post #32 from "If you won the lottery..." to "You won $1 million..."

Because several threads of like topic were merged. But, the thread title is: If you won the lottery, would you continue to work?

Weird that I saw this today as I had a dream I won the lottery last night....hrmm, think its time to go get some tickets.

But no, I would not continue to work if I won a mega jackpot of over 2 mil after taxes. It used to be 1.8 but with inflation and all, 2 mil. 400,000 to build a house somewhere permanent and let that be the family "compound." 50,000 trust for each of my prospective kids to go to college and 25,000 for each of my cousins who are unfortunate to go to some kind of program if they wanted(3 of them) so 350,000 there. 100,000 for a used boat and 25,000 in a trust for the maintenance and keep of said boat (powerboat with a small sleeper cabin). 25,000 for fun money on whatever I like (probably a trip, I used to be a travel agent so I could pretty much see 5 continents for this). And the 1.1 million dollars in a money making investment/savings account with an almost guaranteed 4 percent return on investment. That gives me 40,000 a year. Enough to pay bills and live off of. Some years would be better than others but hey, I think if you can't figure out how to live off of 40,000 free money then something is wrong.

OMG no WAY! I'd be out of there in five minutes. I like my job most of the time but I know I'd be outta there....

No I would not. I would also see a financial planner and go back to school but not likely for nursing. I would also like to send my kids to a better school and have them get through university or college with no debt and maybe a nice downpayment on their own home. Just a dream though.
