Just for fun, if you were to choose a career other than nursing what would it be and why?

I am an out spoken person and likes people doing right thing. So i would have pursue law

a statistician

I love working with plants and flower, and designing landscapes. I would have gotten an undergrad degree in horticultural or something like landscape architecture to design beautiful outdoor/indoor atrium spaces. It is so relaxing.

My dad wanted me to follow in his footsteps and be a cop. I considered it but my dad had a TON of patience. Never raised his voice, never hit us and I mean not once EVER. I never heard the man raise his voice. He used to get 'called on the carpet' by the LAPD back in the day. They wanted him to whack people around. Not because of any need to control a fight, they just wanted him to whack people as a 'show of force.' Upon retirement he switched teams and worked for the L.A. county public defenders' office 20 years. Although I have never been physically abusive toward anyone I had concerns about being able to stay level-headed as my dad was all of the time. Ironically I chose another career path with long hours, a lot of abuse and far less retirement...

Considered but I am really happy as a corrections nurse. I plan on working in jail/prison for the remainder of my career.

Well, nursing is a second career for me, so what I would have done, I did do....which is to be a Massage Therapist and Esthetician.

I would also have loved to be a Paramedic, especially a flight paramedic, but I'm too old now....
