How did you get into wound care? Did you need specific certification?

No certification needed up front. I will be doing hyperbaric oxygen wound therapy and they provide training. I will have one year to become certified and will attend a week long intensive training program in Florida, all expenses paid by the company.

Since I am a LPN my title will be Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician, then once certified, I will advance into a Safety Director position.

Here is a website about the company for you to browse. They have openings in many states.

Work 5 days a week?

Oh, heck no!

I like having days off during the week and try to avoid working more than 2 days in a row if I can help it!

I do not want to get up and go to work 5 days in a row...

AMEN!!!

I've only worked in offices Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 with weekends and holidays off and I love it! I have two kids so that's more important to me than hospital settings right now. I had one job, at an allergy clinic with walk-in allergy shots, that had odd hours and I hated it. I'd work Monday 8:30-5, Tuesday and Thursday 9-6:30, and Friday 8-noon. That doesn't sound too bad but if it was your night to close you'd stay a half hour past closing, so on Tuesdays or Thursdays you're getting out at 7 and had to be back the next morning at 7:15 or 7:45. I know that's what you can expect in 7-7 shifts, but it's not every day. I missed so much of my oldest son's school events and sports and that bothered me.

As to the Halloween costume, I've got one. Picture it: black shoes, white socks, black pants, white shirt, black short jacket, black sunglasses--Oppa Gangam Style. :)

I'm with you (God is good.) I now work Mon-Fri at a surgery center, 30 hours a week. I don't miss 12 hour shifts. I am dressing as a baby/kid for halloween.(footie pajamas) :p

There was a job like that posted. Must have experience, BSN, bilingual... paid $22.50/hr in a community where the median single-family home price is $708K.

Has 10 years experience.

I work Mon-Fri 8-5. I do home health for hospice. Sure it's a lot of driving.........but I finally work office hours. ;)

I got a gig doing Case and Disease management for an IPA, and I love it. Monday-Friday 9-5 with an hour lunch, quarterly BONUSES! NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS! Still adapting to working 5 days a week though. :specs:

Yes! Just thinking about being at work every day of the week makes want to crawl under a blanket and hide! No way.

I did that for 18 months. The on call was a killer some nights out all night and then work all day. I spoke with a hospice nurse recently who put 500 miles on her car in 1 day. Thats alot of time on the road.
