Preceptors are required to submit a copy of their licensure and current resume to the student. The site is required to complete a site affiliation agreement. The student then uploads the practicum documents altogether. The Typhon software is not used.

Hi, I was just wondering what can happen if you want to terminate a contract before it begins. The company has not paid for any housing or anything yet. I took the housing stipend. The contract starts on the 28th of Jan. Family emergency and I cannot go now.

Ned, Can you PM me your number if thats ok? It sounds like you know the ropes and I wanted to go over my contract with you to make sure I am not getting screwed. If I think I am can I try to negotiate for more with them? I didnt sign it yet. Anyway, if its ok with you I would like to talk to someone as this is my first assignment and know nothing of what should be right or wrong. Thanks! Tim

I found an awesome studio for 600 a month furnished with all utilities included(no internet though) and 2.7 miles from the hospital. Well, the agency actually set it up for me. Its a corporate housing facility. Housing is cheap in Buffalo. Thanks!

Hi. I did not sign a contract yet but they are putting it together now. Mind you this is my first assignment and I am going from Phila to Buffalo. Does 45/hr with me finding the housing sound right? Thats what I was told, but will receive the contract today. The recruiter said it would be 28/hr if they supplied accomadations. What should I be asking for also? Is there usually reimbursement for travel? I know I am getting a 1000 bonus upon completion. I just dont know what to look for since this is my first assignment and new to me. Thanks, Tim

Looking to take a first assignment with Cross Country(hope I am doing the right thing going with them...any thoughts?) at Tampa General. I have been to Clearwater but not Tampa. Does anyone know of the hospital or Tampa city in general? Is it a safe place where the hospital is situated? Thanks, Tim

Have you travelled with Sagent? I tried per diem before with Favorite and never worked any of the 5 shifts I was scheduled to because I was cancelled at 4-5am. lol.

Hi, I am looking to begin a travel contract to Buffalo or Rochester NY. Does anyone have any travel experience or knowledge of Favorite Healthcare Staffing? They seem like a pretty reputable company. Also, do all travel agencies offer the same rate for the same assignments? Thanks! Tim

Its a new MSN program

For anyone who might care or wonder....I found out an interesting fact about Walden U today. It is ranked 2999 of over 20,000 schools and universities worldwide. Check out Webometric and see for yourself. It was ranked only 150 below my undergrad school, which is one of the top BSN programs in Philly. Classes start in December for me. Any thoughts or advice from current students or students starting in December welcomed!! cheers!

Have you ever heard of La Salle University in Philadelphia? Probably not...I completed my undergrad there(BSN), and it is one of the top private schools in the country. I have been thinking much about this topic and before I met my fiance, she went to Waterloo University in Ontario(one of the top schools in all of Canada), which is internationally known but I never heard of it in my life. HAve you ever heard of either school? SO, that doesn't say much. I have never heard of Walden up until a few years ago, but I do know several nurses who are in management roles now that went to Walden at my facility. I was just accepted to start in Dec for the FNP program and I am actually transferring out of a brick and mortar school to Walden. I work with three nurses who are are in online FNP programs and the Adult Acute NP who I work with at our facility also went to an online school(that I have never heard of) and had no problems finding a job.
