Hey guys,
Just want to let you know that I used Hurst to study for NCLEX-RN, and I did not use any other study material.
I made sure I knew the core content, I listened to videos twice, made note-cards, and I studied, studied, studied their material!!
They have 6 practice tests (125 each) and those were the only practice questions I completed. ( I did these 6 days before my test!)
I Love Hurst, because I learned a LOT, but I was still worried that what if it wasn't enough? I kept asking myself should I do more practice questions? Should I use the Saunders Book? Should I purchase something else? Well I didn't have time because I spent all my time studying Hurst!
So the day had come to take the test, and I passed with 75 questions!!
Also I want to let you guys know that I wasn't an A student in nursing school. I always struggled! I had taken my exit Hesi numerous times, and I barely passed it. So going into NCLEX I was afraid, but I did it. So if I can do it you can do it!
Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations. I'm condensing my study materials to Hurst and ReMar. I had absolutely toooooo many resources with no structured agenda. I found myself ALL over the place. Well, it showed when I took NCLEX yesterday and failed. Knew I didnt do well when I was taking the exam and it was confirmed when I checked continential testing 24/hrs. later for exam grade. (I take everything in stride and make the best out of it).
Not disappointed, didn't cry, or feel depressed. Wondering if that will kick in later or not? For me, it's called life. I live, acknowledge, accept, learn from my mishaps, and graciously move on.
Now, I'm moving on to plan B.......not over studying, utilizing very few materials, reviewing FUNDAMENTALS, and not thinking beyond what is expected on NCLEX.
Once again........CONGRATULATIONS!!! Go celebrate and become an excellent Nurse.

Congrats :)
I'm using Hurst also and I wanted to compare my test scores with yours to ease my mind.
The first exam I got a 91/125 and I'm going to take the next two this weekend.
Please don't be offended by my request. I'm super stressing over here....

Hey there! Congrats and this is great news. I'm retaking mine and this time I'm only doing Hurst (last time I did Kaplan questions only until I was blue in the face)... So you watched the videos twice and made notecards? Did you memorize the packet or just specifics like meds and labs? Awesome news, congrats again..

I like your attitude and good luck!
Here is a prayer I prayed the day of my test:
"Dear God,
Today I will take my examination
which is so important to me
Though I am nervous.Im not afraid
Because I know that as I write my answers
It is your hands that work
And now,As I take this examination
Please enlighten my mind to able to answer correctly
and to recall everything that I have studied.
I will do my best in this exam and to you God
I will entrust my fate
I know that whatever will be the result,it is according to your will.
You have watched me
As I worked hard to study for this exam
Although I dont feel very confident
And that I dont know if I am prepared
I truly believe that you would give me what I deserve, I deserve to pass this exam,God.
I am happy that today you are with me
For with you I will win this battle
And as I close my eyes and feel your presence
In this examination room
You put confidence to my heart"
Awww thank you ! You are so sweet!
And I love your attitude! I love it! Good for you! I'm glad that now you know what to do differently this time around, and I wish you the best of luck!! I can not wait when you pass NCLEX! :)
If you have any more questions just let me know!!

I'm glad to share my results! I do not mind at all!!
82, 85, 85, 87, 89, 91 points (out of 125 points, NOT percents) So it looks like you are doing good! Yay! And I read on the Hurst website that if you average 84-85 points, you are more likely to pass! :)
Good luck! Go in there with confidence! It really makes a difference! :)
Thank you!! I appreciate it!
I tried my best to memorize the packet! I literally kept going over it & over it and over it! I would pretend like I was explaining the material to someone; like I was tutoring someone! Somehow this helps me! :/ I made notecards of every packet !! Because I am the kind of person that I have to constantly go over things for me to fully understand it & memorize it! This is how I learn.
For example my note cards were like this: "what position do you place a pt for lumbar puncture?", "what are complications of lumbar puncture?", "how should the fluid look?" So I was basically quizzing myself in these notecards! It was sooooo time consuming! But it was worth it.
I studied hardcore for a month in a half! I wasnt in a hurry to take NCLEX, and I wanted to make sure I would truly pass it! So I took my time studying for it! I am a slow learner, I needed that amount of time to study! Everyone is different!
Good luck to you! You will pass! :)
Oh and I did do notecards for meds too! :/ I did not do labs!
Thank you so very much.:)
