I am considering the Nursing Diagnosis Handbook By Ackley and Ludwig. There is an older edition from 2005 and a newer 2010 edition. Anyone have any suggestions for which edition or just about care plan books they are currently using?

I have the Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Ackley and Ladwig 8th ed. I don't know about the 2005 or 2010 versions but like this one as I practically live out of this thing. When in doubt, I'd go for the newer as they are adding several new nursing diagnoses every year.

Be aware that there are two versions, one is a smaller, "handbook" version from the larger "complete text" version. I always try to buy the latest edition of a book unless I know there is some particular reason to get the older one.

Carpenito-Moy's Handbook of Nursing Diagnosis, all the way!

The school I attend requires Ackley and Ladwig, 9th edition (2010), and I highly endorse it!

We use this - I don't love it, that's for sure. I haven't compared though.
I compared when Excelsior College changed from Carpenito to the A & L book, (I got stuck buying both), and decided from what I saw that the A & L version was easier to use and thus, more useful. This was discussed in the CPNE workshop I attended.

I used the one by Gulanick & Myers and really liked it.
Whatever you get, I would find the most recent edition to make sure the info in there is up to date.
