:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe
42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?
I went to MCC yesterday and they confirmed that the 2,000 applicants are in fact all of the selective admission programs. The lady I spoke to however was very rude and also "gruff". She pointed out to me that it is not EVEN April 15th (two months from the date of the deadline) . I think they must take training classes on how to act like this because they all seem to act rude. I know they probably deal with tons of students crazily calling their offices wanting information but if that is the worst they deal with is their job really that bad? Could they just at least smile and be happy they have one? That is my rant.
thanks for the info, that lowers the numbers a lot. here are all the selective admission programs:
clinical laboratory technology
occupational therapy assistant
i would assume that the other programs would have at least 100 applicants for each. i wonder why they do not stagger the application dates on these so they have less stress of ranking all of them at the same time.:thnkg:

Michy, I went to my mailbox yesterday and found the same "Save" magazine. I got so mad that I muttered a few not so nice words and then threw it in the garbage can with a bit of anger. My neighbor was outside and yelled over to me, "Hey! Having a bad day?". No....just a frustrating one!!!
It's too bad that everyone is being "gruff" towards you guys. I guess they feel like they have the power to do whatever they want right now. No matter how much we complain, we can't do anything else about it. It's their fault for being stressed. Shannon, you're right. They shouldn't have all of the rankings at the same time. Can you imagine having 2,000 people wondering and calling and questioning and calling again all at the same time?

Oh, well, excuse the hell outta me, MCC, for not knowing when the deadline is for EVERY SELECTIVE ADMISSIONS PROGRAM EVER IN EXISTENCE CURRENTLY AT MACOMB.:banghead:
(With all this head banging we're all doing, it's a wonder none of us have any closed head injuries )

those 8 programs divided by 2000 would be 250 applicants for each program equally. obviously we know that's not the case, since last year there were 750 for nursing alone. (besides, how many people even know what half of those careers are, anyway?)
and just because it's become my pseudo signature:
:sofahider njakbdjwqbfjkwqbfkjwqbfkjwqbfkjq........is how I feel today, as you see I have lost my mind. Any other transfer students freaking out that they are going to use a zillion classes to figure our ranking? I just sat down and figured it out.
My last 18 credits (2 semesters at Baker) only transfer over as 11.71 credits at MCC. So.....if they take my semester before that (they add the whole semester in), they will be using 31 baker credits since I was taking 13 credits that semester. So all 3 semesters together then will transfers to 20.42 at MCC, which really is not fair since that is 8.42 more credits than everyone else and my GPA will go down.
Oh, well maybe next year.
bahahah..... i know what 90% of them are, but that is only because i suck and have become a loser with no chance at getting into the rn program, so i had to look around in hope of a career in something. i think we should find out how many applied to each so when i get all my denial letters i can send an application to the lowest applied one, then i can be a winner to....lol.

Raising hand here and adding fuel to the fire! I applied to all of the selective admissions except for Vet Tech. So does my application count as 5 or do they only count me as 2; one app. for Nursing and one for all the other Selective admissions? :trout: I dunno, but I could be responsible for 5 of those 2000 spots and dagnabit I better get called upon in something. I have alot of compassion and caring to give and darnit.. someone's gonna get it whether they like it or not!!!!! :) :heartbeat

We were SOOOOOOOO just discussing this today at the Leaning Center and in Class. We are on the same wavelength! I don't know their process..... so I really can't say too much.... but at the end of December was the last time any "last 12 semester credit hours counted". After the first or second week in Jan 09, the HESI tests were done... so yeah... why does it take so long? Most of this should be automated (I am assuming this since both my GPA and HESI are on webadvisor). I just don't know... but you are not alone in your thinking...
