I survived A&P I&II!!

Published

It's over! and I came out with A's!!

Many tears/stress/loss of free time and sanity, but my 7 1/2 month journey has come to an end!

I remember my first day of A&P1 - I was shaking in my shoes, because I had read all of the horror stories here, and many times during the course I felt as if I wasn't cut out for it, but it's done!!:yeah::eek::D

anyone else?

It's a hard class, I took it years ago and did terrible, so now I'm taking 1 this fall and 2 next spring, and I know it's gonna be a fight to do good, but worth it in the end.

I am 2 classes from finishing A&P II and I cannot wait!! I loved A&P I and came out with an A. A&P II is tougher and I'll be elated with a B at this point. Good luck to all that still are taking it.

I am finishing up A&P2 this week, and have my final next week. I am hoping for an A. I was very nervous about starting part two because I did so well in part one and then had to take a different teacher for part two. Nothing worse than wondering if you will go from an A to a C in 16 weeks. Anyway, the class has been hard and sometimes frustrating but if you keep up on the reading, it is do-able.

Plus, when I signed up, I made sure I looked at rate my professor and read the comments. I know the reviews are often written by disgruntled students, and should be taken with a grain of salt, but sometimes you can get a good picture of a teachers method of teaching.

I try to choose profs that hand out power points, that way I know they will have a written outline for me to study. If a topic was important enough for them to put in the lecture, I know I need to really know it for the tests. There is so much to know, it helps to have it narrowed down a bit that way.

Good luck to all of you who are starting, don't panic, if you work hard you will make the grade. Congratulations to those of you who are finishing up...I wish you continued success as you move ahead.

I have my final for A&P1 tomorrow. So far I have an A. I really want my same professor for A&P2 because we are able to print out his powerpoints and his tests are based on his lectures. I hate starting all over with a new professor because they have different teaching styles.

Congrats to all who finished both A&P1 and A&P2!!!

DONE! That's all I can say is done, done, done, done, done... I am sure there is someone else out there who knows exactly what I mean. I have to take micro next, and the thought makes me miserable. I am putting it off until fall, because I know I can't hack a 10 week micro course. Anyone else getting ready for micro now?

Me too, Me too! Done A&P I and II. So excited. I stayed up all night this passed Sunday and took my last A&P II test on Mon morning at 8am...Oh, what a feeling! I can relate to the anxiety of taking these two classes. I tried taking A&P many years ago and just couldn't do it. This time I didn't give up. Worked my butt off, but am proud to say I did it.

I have until May 31st to submit my application for clinicals! WOOOT! :o)

I know what you mean, that is exactly what happened to me. My prof for part one used power points that were very thorough, but we had to take our own notes. It was nice, in the past I have only taken classes where I took my own notes, no power points (by the way, I am an older returning student). I loved the power points. Unfortunately, he didn't teach part two, how dumb is that? A little continuity would be nice....anyway,

My part two teacher used a printed outline and an overhead projector, while she presented her power points, sounds similar but was totally different. In that case I sort of felt like she was my sixth grade teacher, trying to help us learn how to take notes for the first time. That was a little tedious but she got her point across and it narrowed the topics enough to help me study.

Overall, both profs were good, and that made a world of difference to my grade. I hope all the people just beginning their A&P sections will have great instructors too.

congrats!!:yeah:i have my 102 final tomorrow night, then I am home free as well!!! i have an A in 101 and a 95% in 102, so as long as i get at least a 65% on the final im good to go:lol2:

I am finishing up A&P II next week. I am fairly certain I will finish with an A in part II, just like I did in the first one. I loved Anatomy. So fascinating to learn about the body and all the parts! The hardest section was on the bones for me, but I also had a great professor, although rmp.com does have some negative reviews for him from some bitter people. I love how he gave us critical thinking questions vs just memorizing stuff and spitting it out. Lots of studying, but truly fascinating stuff!

congrats! it's nice to hear you made it out alive! haha i have a little horror story for everyone: i have a friend who has been taking A&P all semester and just found out last week that his teacher dropped him from the class halfway through the semester!! he's been taking all the quizzes and exams and studying like crazy! of course, she dropped him because of a low grade but, i'm sure he would have appreciated acknowledgement of it.

i am starting anatomy in the fall and i need to pass that to take physiology and then i can apply to NS :)

OMG I think I would be ready to kill someone, namely that prof, or the people in the add/drop office, if I was dropped midterm and wasn't informed! How does that happen?! I would be royally ticked off putting all that work into a class thinking I was pulling up my grade, or trying to anyway, and then hearing that...ugh.

Makes me feel sick to my stomach just to think of it happening. Maybe she just didn't realize he was still attending classes, but then what about him taking the tests??? Yikes.

I hope she got censured in some way for that, but somehow I doubt it.

I took my final for A&P II on Monday, I think I'll get an A in the course like I did with A&P I. I really liked my anatomy courses especially the professor who I took both times. He really explained the material and his test were really a direct reflection of what was discussed in class.
