I still have many courses for only 2 semesters. Your advise is appreciated!

I still have Anat&Phys I and II, Microbiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry and I may repeat the sociology class before next spring. I am only taking Nutrition and Anat & PhysI for the summer.

I know they are hard and require a lot of studying. I want to complete them before spring 2013 matriculation. Do you think I have enough time? Can I get someone's advise on how to manage my time and what classes to take together?

Thank you

so you'll have in the fall:

Biochem, micro and a&p II.

To me that would be a bit much, but I also have to work nearly full time. Depends on what else is going on in your life.

I am working a part time job (3 days a week), single, no kids.

Not too shabby! If I were you i'd try to spread it out over 3 semesters. It stinks but, 4/6 class you have yet to take also have labs, which add a whole nother beast to the workload...or at least they did for me.

Honestly, Nutrition is a fairly easy course. If it were me, I'd do a&P with nutrition.

Oh woww if I were you I would just suck it up and take each science class one at a time along with an easy class like psychology, english, sociology, etc. They are hard, require a lot of studying, have labs, has a lot of work, etc unless youre not working then take two at a time. I took 4-6 classes for all my semesters and got done quick by taking 3 online classes, 1 science, 1, math and statistics

Oh yes I forgot, I took my nutrition online and I loved it and that class was the easiest science class ever, I know someone that took that along with Physiology

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

Definitely do-able! I'm taking 4 classes this summer and 6 classes in the fall, so I can apply in January for the 2013 cohort. You can certainly do it. Yes, it's going to be a LOT of work!!!!

I think that is definitely do-able. But it will take a lot of studying. I personally took A&P, Microbiology, Chem, ENG, Soc, and Psy all in one semester! I passed every class with an A, but I won't lie, I did nothing but studying. I work three 6 hour sifts a week, but watch no TV, and didn't do anything other than studying. My job also allows my to study when we are slow. Does your work allow this? I took two semesters with 18 classes, a piece, in order to be done with all of my prerequisites before I got into my nursing program. Also this will look very good on your application to a program. My nursing advisor said one of the things they look for on applications is students being able to handle challenging classes, while getting good grades. Because once you get into your nursing program, the course load and amount of studying you will have to do is not joke. Even one credit class in nursing school are harder than some four credit classes I took as prerequisites. With all that being said, I think it is a great idea to take a full load of classes, because it will help to prepare you for your nursing classes, and get you in the mode of studying and fully focusing on school. I hope this helps! GOOD LUCK! :o

country73 18 classes each semester?? How did you even get those to all be scheduled around each other and when did you sleep!? haha I am impressed. But I think you will be fine, like everyone else you will have a lot of studying to do so limit your distractions and go into the semester with the mindset that you need to FOCUS. Let your friends/family know how serious you are about doing well so you'll have a support system. I'm also taking a&p1, micro, stats and nutrition this fall so I'm going to be in the same boat :specs:

You might also check and see if any of the classes are offered in a fast track, intercession version. I'm going to take Nurtrition in the intercession between Summer and Fall semesters.

I'm also a full time student with a full time job. I took 2-3 science classes at a time and with basically no other life, I was able to get A's in all my pre-reqs. So my suggestion would be:

1st semester:

Micro, A&P I, nutrition (esp if you can get nutrition as an online class)

2nd Semester:

A&P II and Biochem (this seems tough but doable with no other courses)
