I was picked in the lottery!!!

O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set in stone until I get the official letter, but I'm still going to celebrate!!!

If you want to volunteer I suggest going through Cpmc. I did it for about a year in the post-partum unit and loved it :) But again it's not paid. I am trying to find a UC job in a hospital or anything healthcare related I would be happy with!!

Is anyone going to be working during nursing school? If so what kind of work? I am trying to find a healthcare job, part time or per diem that I might be able to hold during school. Any suggestions?

I need to work and have been looking for a part-time position at a hospital for months now and haven't found anything yet. My plan is to be working as a CNA after our first semester of NS, but during the first semester is what I'm worried about. If anyone gets in anywhere or knows of any entry-level hospital openings, please let us know :-) A helping hand gets paid back in spades ;-)

You guys can try to apply to a company called Reliable. They hire CNA's, HHA, and even people who only have home care experience without a license/certificate. I believe they have locations outside of SF also. I feel working for a Registry during Nursing school would be great, since you are usually on call. They also work with your schedule. If this particular company doesn't work, there are many others that are similar to this one. Goodluck!

So what are we all thinking/feeling about the accreditation problems? Does anyone know when the decision comes to accredit them or not?

totally confused about that. I got accepted at Chabot nursing program in Hayward and dont know if i should accept them instead of ccsf... confused

i am a certified medical assistant and have been working for kaise for a while now...

Hi MAggiel,

If I were you, I would go for chabot! They offer a seamless transition from the ADN to BSN degree.
