  1. Can you send me your email address by emailing me? [email protected] Thanks!
  2. and a physical assessment class... if all is the same. :)
  3. There are tons of books you need to buy. You can buy them separate or in a bundle that they will talk about tomorrow. Also, you don't choose any classes. The school does it for you. You will be registered for fundamentals, drug dosage, and law and ethics... Fundamentals is a huge class though. Almost four days a week
  4. Also, we will be selling used books at the orientation on Monday. They range from $5-$50 depending on the book. We will also be selling water, bananas, and muffins. can't wait to meet you guys! I remember the exact feeling of excitment last year!
  5. Last year they accepted all alternates right away! May have changed... but you have a great chance!
  6. I know the orientation is for sure on the 7th of July(less than a week) at 9am for those that get in and alternates. :) Good luck guys!
  7. I know the orientation is for sure on the 7th of July(less than a week) at 9am for those that get in and alternates. :) Good luck guys!
  8. The new student orientation wont be till July 7th... FYI
  9. Okay.. so I don't have a lot of time... so here it goes... I have had a fine experience so far. If I had to do it all over again, and had the choice of other schools I would choose to do Merritt again. What has made it worth it, has really been the students.. lol. I have made best friends for life with a lot of the people, and that makes it worth it to me. We really have each other backs. I have friends who are attending Los Medanos Nursing program, and their program seems as hard as ours; if not harder. Basically, all programs are hard, and your have to study your butt off for all of them. The bad rap that Merritt has, has gotten better; and the most change they have had has been with our class. Just like with any other program, there are fantastic teachers, and those who make a bad rap for the program. I would say a weakness is definitely the program and the school having lack of communication and being unorganized. Other than that, you pretty much work hard, give your all, and develop a little thick skin and you will be fine :) Private Message me with any other info. I huge battle over the summer when you attend any nursing program,is getting all your health info in line. You need to get a double negative TB skin test done (with paperwork showing it to be negative) you need to have BLS CPR, TDAP shot, and much more.. contact me for more info if you want it.
  10. Hello. I am a second yr student at Merritt. Any new information yet? I know they normally have their orientation the first Tuesday of June, but it has been postponed till June 16th as of now. Its an all day event that is mandatory. The date is not set in stone, but it is what I heard so far.
  11. Hello! I was originally accepted for Spring 2014 with you guys, but I got into Merritt in Oakland, and it was much closer.. so I went with that school. Just some FYI while you guys are in down time right now.. start brushing up on your math, learn how to convert within one system(metric to metric) and from one system to another (metric to households.. mL's to cups) start learning abbreviations if you don't know them yet. like prn,NPO... learn drip factors... and it is never to early to learn normal lab values and pharmacology. School goes by soooo fast, and you barely have time for any personal time, so really enjoy that time most of all!!! :) Hope this helps!
  12. Does anyone know when the lottery will take place?
  13. Didn't get in... Good luck to everyone else!
  14. What's going on cause I clicked on the links and there were 40 people on the list and the accepted and alternate list were the same!
  15. I was picked for the fall 2013 class also! See you guys on Tuesday! anyone coming from Antioch area??
