I can't be the only one who thought the TEAS was easy...

Published

I was just curious about what other people thought about the TEAS test... it didn't seem to be very challenging, and most of the stuff on there seemed pretty basic. I got a 91.2... which was "supposedly" in the 99th percentile of the program AND the nation. Ridiculous!

I hope the TEAS is as easy as you say, I am 28 and have been out of high school for 11 years now, and I have my test on Tuesday, april 25th. I just found out that they were still accepting applications a week ago so I've been studying every night. If anyone has any insight on what the Science Section is like that would be great. I think I might have an advantage though, I've working in a major hospital for 4 years now in the STD Clinic and also in AIDS Research, so I've heard alot of medical terms. Hopfully some of it sunk in.

I thought the TEAS was pretty easy as well. It is pretty basic, basic science (chem, etc), basic math (make sure you can do ratios), basic reading comprehension, etc So if you have already taken all or more of your pre-reqs you should do fine. I didn't even study for it and did great, I know there is a study guide available.

Good luck everyone!

I thought the science section was mainly reading graphs and charts.

I could'nt see how reading graphs and charts would be relavent to science?

I thought the science section was mainly reading graphs and charts.

It was, we also had a few science questions on ours as well (chem and anatomy or something from what I remeber....I took mine back in Dec).

I just remember it was really basic.

And I agree, what does reading graphs and charts have to do with knowing science? Really the more I think about it, TEAS is a stupid test....lol This was the first year my school initiated the TEAS and they are still studying it to see if they still want to keep using it, we used to do the NET before that.

There was some weird stuff on the math portion as well from what I remember, something like: "draw a circle, now draw a square around the circle" and then you had to pick the mc answer that matched. Did ya'll have those too?

Marilynmom, I took mine in Feb, and it sounds like yours was very similar. If I remember correctly there was one A&P type question out of all the science questions (it was about the nervous system). I was nervous about the science section, but ended up getting a 90% in that area.

I breezed right through the exams.

However, I can't be judgemental of those who didn't. We all come from different lifestyles and acedemic levels.

A persons score and precentile says nothing about the person nor the people below them. It might have something to say about our educational system that I can breeze through it and score 99, but I'm not going to judge the entire educational system on my score either.

Dear Friends,

I need some information on TEAS exam and where they are conducted. I am presently in saint louis area and I am planning to apply to some nursing schools that require TEAS exam. They told me that I can write in any state and in any college. I did some search on Internet and did not find any college that offers TEAS exam.

I appreciate if anyone can help me in finding a college in any near-by state where I can take TEAS exam.

Thanks

ANU

Technically I am going to to Sac City right now. I am one of the cohorts at the extended campus. We begin clinicals in August. I LOVE our facility. You'd never know its part of Sac City. It's actually funded through Sutter Hospitals. Kaiser is just where I work =)

I'm just so blessed I don't have to go through that whole acceptance/rejection letter phase. But you seem like your confident you'll get into one of them, so thats good.

I have been waiting to get in to nursing schohol for almost two years.I have a 3.6 GPA and 79 score with TEAS(took 3 times got the same score) last was in Sept 06. Do you think Sutter make me to take it agin, I want to apply to the extended campus too. It seems to me noone in Sac city can answer that.

Science was the hardest part. I ended up with a 91.2. I may take it one more time before applications are due.

I took the TEAS test last month and I got 84.7 and was in the 92nd percentile nationally and 95th percentile in the program. In order to be CONSIDERED for the program, you had to have scored in the 40th percentile nationally. I also have a 3.875 GPA and am hoping to hear if I got in by the end of next month for starting in January 2008.

I found the test a lot of basic stuff as a previous poster said one section(Science maybe) had a "draw a circle, and put a square in the circle" type choice question. Also, advice on the science part...make sure you know basic chemical, life, and physical science stuff...one question had to do with physics and I got lost...friction, etc.

Good Luck to all who have to take this test!!!!

Sincerely,

B

If you look on the 3rd bulletin point up from the bottom of this page: http://www.scc.losrios.edu/nursing/ec_whatsnew.html , it appears that you don't have to retake it but just get your results from ATI.

I'm also applying to the Sutter extended campus. Good luck - I hope we both make it in. :D
