I can't be the only one who thought the TEAS was easy...

I was just curious about what other people thought about the TEAS test... it didn't seem to be very challenging, and most of the stuff on there seemed pretty basic. I got a 91.2... which was "supposedly" in the 99th percentile of the program AND the nation. Ridiculous!

Hey there,

I'm applying as well. Did you take the TEAS yet FAWorld? I'm taking it this Friday. I already took the NET and it seems similarly easy if not easier. I am more concerned about what else they are looking for. Any ideas? How much experience do you have (volunteer/paid)? etc.

I just paid to take my TEAS test which will be in a couple of weeks or so. If anyone has more details about this test or suggest specific books to study, please let me know. Ive been out of high school for 20 years now. I'm nervous just thinking about it. Well, I freeze up on any test I take :-) Thank you and congrats to all of you that did so well.

I have to take 1 pre-req (ANP 102) then hopefully, I'll get into the program in 2008!!!

Keep your head up to all nursing students out there!!

I took it on Sat (the 8th). It was definitely easier than the study guide and a little easier than the online assessment. I got an individualized score of 86% on the online assessment and an individualized score of 91%/national & program percentile 98% on the overall exam. I was really stressing over science and it was much easier on the actual exam (phew!). Math is difficult because of the short amount of time but as long as you work quickly and efficiently (skip the problems you are struggling with and go back to them at the end), then you should be fine. :)

I asked one of the Sutter people there about the apps. It sounds like they use a scoring system (that she did not explain but I assume factors in GPA, # of times you took each prereq, etc). They then take the top 100 or so (???) based on that scoring system and pick the candidates from that group looking over their entire packet, including letters of recommendation.

I asked her if the overall score on the TEAS was ranked but she said you just had to meet the cut (97%), which surprised me that they don't rank it since they do rank GPA.

I have no paid healthcare experience but their website said that it considered in the event of a tie. I'm hoping having a 4.0 will get me in w/o the paid experience. *crosses fingers*:lol2:

patred5 - I would definitely go to the ATI site and buy the study guide. I hadn't taken math in years and definitely needed the brush-up.

I forgot to add - good luck on the exam! :D

It was somewhat easy. I scored above the national and program averages and i didnt even study!!!! Kinnda makes me wonder who is taking the exam. Another thing, I was reading on here about the teas and i swore that the national and programs averages for one persons school was the exact same thing as the school i am applying to. I thought the program average meant what people were scoring that applied to that specific program.
