Found this Nov. 10th story on Medium-- viewpoint of a writer living in Sri Lanka.  I remember the Sri Lanka government upheaval and following bombing of churches  at Easter and mosques with hundreds of deaths.  Some stores remain boarded up in Center City Philadelphia. Two years ago, I lived through a coup in Sri Lanka. It was stupid.

The minority party threw chili powder at everyone in Parliament and took over by farce. Math, however, requires a majority and the courts kicked them out. They gave in. We’d been protesting for weeks and yay, we won.

I didn’t know it at the time, but we had already lost. No one knew — but oh my God, what we lost. The legitimate government came back but it was divided and weak. We were divided and weak. We were vulnerable....

...What is a coup? It’s literally a cut. Someone taking government power that doesn’t belong to them, and cutting legitimate power out. In our case it was occupying Parliament without a majority. In yours it’s denying the President-Elect after an election. This is a cut, it’s a wound. Whether it fails or not, deep structural damage is done. At the time, however, it just feels dumb.

Trump’s quest to overturn election runs into quiet resistance from local and state Republicans

A reminder of continued GOP support for Trump’s efforts was apparent Saturday in Michigan, where the state’s Republican chairwoman, Laura Cox, issued a joint statement with Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel calling on the state to delay final certification of the vote and conduct a “full audit and investigation.” This came a day after the state’s top GOP lawmakers met with Trump at the White House but declared afterward that they had “not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan.”

GOP effort to invalidate more than 2.5 million votes in Pennsylvania dealt another setback

“It basically says Pennsylvania had something other than an election, which is another explanation for why it’s not going anywhere,” he said.

Trump's "lawyers" have no credible claims and they have no evidence.  They need rank and file republican politicians to break the law for them or they need Kavanaugh and Barrett to thank Trump for their lifetime seats by installing him as dictator.

Forcing Trump’s Election Lawyers To Tell The Truth

...   The hard truth dodged by those Republican attorneys — and their client and his cult — is that Joe Biden soundly defeated the president by much larger margins than he achieved four years ago, and that there is simply no plausible evidence to diminish those totals. Outside the courthouses, on TV and online, those lawyers and their publicity apparatus, including the taxpayer-supported propagandists in the White House, say whatever Trump wants to hear, no matter how untrue.

They're not quite so brazen when appearing before a judge, however.

 ...   In a Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, courthouse, where Trump lawyer Jonathan Goldstein presented vague insinuations of vote fraud.

Judge: I am asking you a specific question, and I am looking for a specific answer. Are you claiming that there is any fraud in connection with these 592 disputed ballots?

Goldstein: To my knowledge at present, no.

Judge: Are you claiming that there is any undue or improper influence upon the elector with respect to these 592 ballots?

Most of this PA political election fraud insinuations -- all unfounded without proof that will stand up in a court of law is mostly happening in my area.

My incumbent Republican state Sen. Tom Killion (Delaware and Chester Counties) LOST to Democrat Tom Kane as  citizens in this area fed up with Republican Harrisburg shenanigans and control. AN example of this was Wednesday 's appearance of Rudy Guliani and phoned in presidential call at the touted PA State Legislator  hearing --- actually was just a Pennsylvania State Majority Policy Committee Hearing --- in a  crowded hotel meeting room, 95% maskless.

President Trump invited Pa. lawmakers to the White House. Then everyone went silent.

So now he puts conditions that Biden can only enter the White House if he can prove it isn't fraudulent.  Trump can't even prove that it is.  Having all the states say that it isn't fraudulent isn't proof enough?

What is he saying here?  We know he doesn't accept the election results, is now saying he's not leaving because of this fantasy?

At the end of the day if voter fraud is proven and Trump remains president will democrats simply accept the results -as they are urging everyone else to do now?

They say we should bury the hatchet and "unite" as a country -but would they?

They would NOT -they never accepted the results of the 2016 election. 

When democrats say we should "unite" and they talk about "peace"- what they are really saying is we should just shut up and let them have their way. But submission is NOT unity, nor does it bring peace. 

We should just forget about being called "uneducated", "racist", "xenophobic", "homophobic", and "misogynistic" for the past four years by democrats.  We should just forget about cities being burned and looted and people being violently assaulted just for walking down the street.  

Nobody is going to be holding hands and singing Kumbaya and uniting under Biden. Those who sowed the seeds of hate, discord, and violence will reap what they have sown.
