I just ordered a Zuca bag for school

Published

Hello all! I was reading a thread about gear for school and a few people recommended these Zuca bags. I had been looking at other bags, but these seem much better for our needs! Thought I'd share! Can't wait to get mine. :p

I am looking at getting a Zuca "business backpack"

ZCA

It doesn't roll, but it looks like it does have a lot of space. With all the pockets and things, I think I wouldn't even need to carry a purse. However students who are in the program I'm about to start have suggested a rolling one, so I really don't know what I'm going to get yet.

There wasn't enough room in our lab, clinicals, or most of our classrooms to be toting around a monster like that. I'm something of a tote aficionado but that thing would have been totally impractical during my schooling.

Off topic...Does anyone know if any of the nursing or reference books that y'all have had to have, are available on Kindle? That would save me some room, too!
Many nursing and medical texts are available as PDFs which should be "Kindle-able." Others are available in proprietary e-book formats on laptops (Elsevier's Evolve).

I got one of these for my niece the ice skater. I don't think it would work for my nursing school needs -- the wrong size compartments really.

Did you get the one with the wheels that light up? LOL

Of course! ha ha I will be turning that feature off. :lol2:

I just went to Hobby Lobby and got a scrapbook tote. I love that it has room for tons of pens because I love to use different colored pens & highlighters to take notes.

There was an in-store half off sale so I got it for $35. :D Great deal and I think it will be perfect for NS with lots of room and several pockets. Thanks so much for the tip CBsMommy!! I would have never thought of looking into a scrapbook bag if I hadn't read this thread.

it looks like a rolling orificenal. I seldom used my books at shool... I had a tote in my car with my books in it and just took what I needed to class. I got to the point I had a bag/brief case for each class.

Okay, that has got to be the UGLIEST bag ever....lol....:twocents: and way too much money...

I totally agree! :lol2:

That looks really nice but it's expensive!!!

I use a scrapbooking bag that's a little larger than that and still have a hard time fitting all of my books into it. My scrapbooking bag rolls, has a handle that can be pushed down and has more compartments than the Zuca. Just advice for anyone on a budget! You can usually find a scrapbooking bag on Craigslist for $20.

Cool! I might look into this! Thanks for the tip! I would have never thought of this.

I can see it being nice if you carry everything but the kitchen sink to class...esp for those who carpool like someone mentioned. Personally, I bought a backpack from Northface when I started college (yes this is my first time through school) for $90. It has tons of compartments, including one for my laptop. Best thing is is that I have beat the heck out of it (I spent my first two years of college at a rather well known engineering school) carrying an absolute ton of crap and it barely shows any wear and tear. It's also traveling rather extensively with me....multiple states...the Bahamas...so if you're looking for something that will last and will be super worth the cost it could be something to consider. Try getting a rolling backpack from Costco. They have satisfaction guarantee, which means you can exchange it if it doesn't live up to your expectations.

Looks nifty but I have to say it definitely doesn't look like its worth $150.
