I Hate People (my rant)

Published

The Sum Up:

Why I hate people in general (reasons why):

*When they stare at me for over 3 seconds for no apparent reason! Especially, when I'm trying to eat a subway sandwich or something and they just feel the need to watch me eat. Or when I'm trying to fix my hair in a portable mirror and they just feel the need to glance at me more then twice. Once should be enough because it's rude!

*When they walk so slowww in front of me to the point where I just want to push them. Because I am a very impatient person to the point where the littlest things tick me off if it's not fast enough.

*I hate when people tries to start a conversation with me! So I just smile and nod my head and hope that they get the jist that I don't want to talk. And it's not even people in general, it's actually because I'm a bad conversationalist!

Why I dislike kids:

* I don't necessarily hate them but I do force myself to be nice as possible to them. However, I really don't like interacting with children unless it's to hold a baby.

*I don't want kids until my late 30s. Go figure. And I especially don't want to get married because every relationship I get into it only lasts for about 3 months because I love being a loner. If I'm going to work seeing people then I would like to come home and see no people.

But I love animals (I have 4 dogs)! However, I just don't see myself working with animals in the future because I would love to keep my hands in tact.

And no guys I am not trolling. This is really an everything for me and it's the reasons why it is so hard for me to commit to nursing. And I actually have an appointment set up with a therapist July 18 before I go off to nursing school and it's to find out why I really act this way.

So I just wanted to make this thread because after scrolling Allnurses for the last two days I find that threads like these are not common but their are people out there who is just like me and wants to go into nursing. I want to be a nurse because I find that I really like helping people and kids at their weakest points but other than that I hate people.

Someone is trolling us. Maybe it's a slow night over at "Student Doctor."

No, her feelings can be a symptom of depression. I never had this problem because my chronic depression (well-controlled thanks to better living through pharmaceuticals) is melancholic/anergic, which is slightly different (worse prognosis untreated but much, much more responsive to meds; SSRIs make it worse, while dopaminergics such as bupropion can reduce symptoms dramatically) but some people with "regular" depression can have this issue.

Reading through what OP is saying, she sounds just like a family member who's college-aged and has major depressive disorder. I think psychiatric help would be tremendously beneficial here, but I'm just an idiot on the internet.

It's called misanthropy and yes at one point we all have felt disdain for another human... But to hate humans in general?? ... I don't think you can speak for others and claim that everyone hates people. There's a difference between hating people and hating human nature.

Why won't this thread die? Y'all are beating a dead horse at this point.

And if you're beating a dead horse it better be because you love beating dead horses, not because you're getting paid to do it. Because if you're beating a dead horse for a paycheck then you shouldn't become a dead horse beater. It's not fair to the horse, who doesn't really give a fig why you're there.

Hmm..this is one post of a different breed! Can't accuse her of not being honest.

Just about to say that. The same things are being repeated over and over but the OP has long left the building.

When a thread gets this long, people tend to read only a page or two of it and then comment things said before in the middle somewhere.

AlyaMF, I will pray for you. I truly hope you are successful in whatever you choose to do. *hug* :cat:

I am a night shift worker and please do not be fooled! Unless you are in ICU, patients are not unconscious and family members are everywhere! With the paradigm shift in visitation hours, many facilities have no "standard" visitation or what is known as "open visitation" meaning people have full access to the facility 24/7.

Please do your research BEFORE you spend money on nursing school as I fear another profession may be a better match for you. Hopefully you will find the answers you are looking for.

Yep. Been said 1000 times.

It's almost like re inventing the wheel.

Cranky me needs to go to bed.

I posted on this thread earlier but the more comments I read, I am not sure why so much attention is being given to this thread. Hopefully the therapist can help them figure something out. It seems this person dislikes EVERYTHING about nursing but wants to be a nurse?????
