hmmmm...i bet you're wonder what this thread is all about??? :rotfl:

my chemistry class is sooooo hard. i'm seriously worried about nursing school. how is nursing school compared to chemistry???

at the beginning of the quarter i studied 1-2 hours every night and managed to get a b on the test (most of the people failed it), i was soooo happy. then i kinda slacked off and got a c on the next. i'm so worried about today's test. i need to get a high a on the last 2 tests to get an a in the class. hmmm...don't think it's going to happen! :crying2:

it's just so hard to get myself motivated, especially since i've heard that i won't even use the things that we're learning about in nursing.

what's the point to this thread? i just needed to :angryfire vent :angryfire !!!

thanks for reading! :p

chemistry is not one of my classes! i must be lucky on that one.:p

You're lucky! I haven't been to college in over 9 years so I was bound and determined to do a really good job and get all A's if at all possible. Well...my psychology is no big deal (she gives tests on the definitions in the book), but chemistry......:angryfire In one of my instructors classes only 1 person passed the 1st test! :imbar He did let people re-take it, but that shows how HARD he is!!! I've got to do good on this test and I am so sick of studying!!!!!

I have just started chem 1 and its not so bad. (I might be singing a different tune later though :chuckle )

I have found that its best to stay on top of it. I work at it everyday and I am actually trying to find a study buddy. Maybe you could find someone too?

I want to wish you luck with it...but remember, you only get out of it what you put into it!! Keep working hard!! :)

When I decided to go back to school at age 40, I started in the summer semester and for some reason still unbeknownst to me, I chose chemistry as the first class to start working on my prereqs. Why I didn't choose something a little lighter like English, I may never know. Anyway, it was a crash seven week course and after being out of school for 22 years, needless to say I was overwhelmed. I found it extremely difficult, but managed to pull off a C. God bless my Professor, he knew I was a future nursing student and I think they know that Chemistry is not an absolute must to have down pat, but it is a required prereq. And to be honest, I'm still not finding a use for it in my present nursing program, but as they say, knowledge is power! :chuckle Don't get discouraged by it, just get through it and you'll get closer and closer to the nursing courses which is what you're striving for. Then you'll start to actually enjoy learning again! Good luck!!

:chair:OOPS...didn't mean to scare ya! Really it's a piece of cake, :D well maybe not cake, but if ya study a lot you'll get through it. Also keep in mind, I've NEVER had chemistry before. I quit school when I was 16 and graduated through homeschool. So I had NO IDEA what it was going to be like!!!

Good luck and STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!!!

Also - I got the complete idiots guide to chemistry. It helped me quite a bit. There is also a dummy's chemistry book, but my professior said it wasn't as good. I got a good one used if ya wanna buy it! :lol2:

1 very important concept to KNOW is moles. Gosh I hate 'em!!!!!

I also suggest work the problems over and over and over. That's the only thing that saved me from failing the first test like most of the other students did.

Good luck!!!!! If you have any  I'll try to help if you want! :)

I had to re-take Chem...the first time, i got a D, the second, an A (nicer instructor)....Please don't ever mention that word MOLES to me again! LOL.

Good luck!!

I always struggled with chemistry/physical science in high school, and thankfully I don't need to take it in college. Don't be discouraged that you might not get an A, just be THANKFUL you're going to pass the class. It's a tough one! Good luck. :)
