:) I got my start date for MCC...

I am starting in August ! I say the sooner the better for this old broad :). Who else is with me?

Hi everyone, congradulations on getting in! I just finished my first year in the nursing program and thought I'd throw in my two cents worth of advice. The uniforms have no stretch or give, so if you don't have the perfect body (and how many of us actually do?!) you may want to go up a size, at least on the tops, the bottoms don't seem as bad.

As for the books, don't worry about rushing out to get them all before classes start because you really won't need them all...just wait till you get the syllabus on the first day of class.

I also suggest getting Sauders Comprehensive NCLEX Review and the Med-Surg Study Guide (for 1600's)...using these when you're studying for your lecture exams will really help.

Good Luck!

I don't know about the uniform sizing. I have an xs top and size s bottoms and I normally wear a size 10 bottom and large women's top. I would feel more comfortable in a size s top, but I'm working on that this summer :p! I think according to the website I was supposed to order size s for both. My lab coat is size xs (initally ordered an s and it was too big and boxy, those jackets suck they are so ugly!).

You need the Wilson, the Taylor set, and the Clinical Calculations, and Carpenito. I admit I didn't really read the communications book at all :imbar. I wasn't able to find that Taylor set anywhere online, it's special because it comes with the videos. I saved about $10 by buying it at the Bookmark (19 and Garfield) over buying it on campus.

Hey Hockeymom, congrats! Mind if I ask your HESI score and GPA? ;)

Good luck! Keep us newbies updated :)

GPA 4.0 and HESI 97

Good luck to you for Fall '09!

Do you guys know if people who do not start in August got their starts dates when you did? I still haven't gotten mine. I thought it would come while I was on vacation last week but I got in last night and nothing! I left a message asking for a new packet to be send but haven't heard back from that yet either!

This is nuts!

The rest of us received our letters at the same time as the August start time group. You should have received it a week or so ago.

It's got to be lost in the mailor some thing. Mine came in a 5x7 yellow/manila envelope with the letter and uniform stuff inside. I'm not sure about the letters for those who start after the fall semester as no one has posted that I know of.

Hope you find it or perhaps they can resend it for you.:smackingf

Keep us posted...Hoot

I will try contacting them again tomorrow. They shoud have sent them all at the same time since whether we start in aug or not we need to plan our lives. Waiting is not fun!

I'm a January start and mine came, just as a single regular letter though, not in a big envelope with the other info. Hope that helps!

I finally know! I start in October!

Congrats!

Did you get to register ?

I'm going to wait until August to register when I move to MI. That way I am in-state and can save a couple hundred bucks. It's nice that there are 30 spots for 30 people so I don't have to rush.

I wonder if the clinical or lab days are limited because they offer more choices. I dont know, but maybe someone who knows could let us know how that works.
