I am in my 1st semester of an LPN program in Alabama and I absolutely LOVE it! Fundamentals are about ADL's, Safety, Profession of Nursing etc. You will learn about bathing a patient, assisting in ambulation, toileting, grooming, asepsis, and some nursing history..all very interesting stuff. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I am really looking forward to what next semester holds.... Good Luck to you and Congratulations!
Thankyou so much for your replies it is encouraging, I am nervous as heck because of the unknown. I do know it's going to be tough and plenty of studying. I am ready or at least I believe I am. I will be an LPN in 12 months. I chose this route because the city I live in has a horrible BSN program and are actually about to lose their accredidation, and the nearest ADN program is 45 minutes away which will be a no-no for me. I plan to work upon graduating and passing NCLEX and go back to school and take prereq's for my associates. I would appreciate any words of wisdom from my fellow collegues. I will be taking Nutrition& Diet Therapy, Drug Dosage & Calculations, and Nursing Fundamentals. Any info about these classes would be appreciated.
Thanks -a- million
