Hello, I just found out I didn't get into nursing school (BSN)
I have a 4.0 GPA. My nursing entrance exam score wasn't very high. I scored a 70. The minimum was 65 for the Kaplan.
My program is very competitive. Students with a 3.5 GPA and above were able to get the interview.
I am also prior military and I actually got an extra point added to my ranking just for that.
Is it really my score? Maybe the interview?
At this point I have no idea!
Any help? Suggestions on what to do next?
Maybe med school?

Can you retake the entrance exam and try again? If not, you need to start looking at other schools. There are some out there where you would be very competitive with that 4.0 GPA. Good luck.

If you 4.0 GPA was from another school such as phoenix online and such school, that may be your answer. My school gave more credibility to some school. There are schools that gave you an A for paying tuition especially schools marketed to military

It's impossible for us to say why you didn't get accepted. Any one of the reasons mentioned above could have been the reason. Re-take the test and apply again. (Prepare for the test, practice for the interview, etc.) Also apply to other schools so that all of your eggs are not in the same basket.

Some schools have nursing programs with more competitive admissions than others. A 2.8 will get you admitted into one program, but a 4.0 may not guarantee admission into another. It's due to factors such as location, the applicant pool and so forth.

Impossible to answer. Talk to the school.

State college's here will give entrance to students with a 3.0 Pre Reqs and a 75% score on TEAS. However, the Associate program's due to demand want a 4.0 and a 85% or higher preferably on TEAS score to even be considered.

My guess was prerequisites? I mean you didn't say what the 4.0 was for (college? high school?) how long ago did you achieve that and did you take the nursing prereqs?
And I'm REALLY confused at the jump to med school when you think you could have bombed the interview for nursing school?
If you can't get a hold of the school to find out why you can look up interview questions and answers and see how yours compared to what they say are good answers and demeanor.

It depends on how they take gpa into value. Some schools, gpa isn't that important compared to experience or entrance exam scores. Could be your Kaplan score would have counted more towards your overall score but I wouldn't know since I don't know what school you are talking about. It could be error on your application or maybe you were disqualified for some other reasons.

Call the school? Maybe they'll tell you why you weren't accepted or what you might be able to work on. Depending on the school, this might be really helpful for you in the future.

The MCAT is a very rigorous test as well. Very rigorous. Unless you really have a desire to go into medicine, I don't think that should be your first reaction to these events.
Apply to another program, take the test again, contact the school to see what the main weaknesses with your application was, etc. You sound like a good candidate, so don't give up just yet.

Contact the school and see if they can tell you what to work on. Do you have any healthcare experience? I know one of the local universities to where I live would much rather take a student who has a 3.5GPA, relevant volunteer/work experience and evidence of non-academic interests over a student with a 4.0 who has only focused on school, and has no experience at all in healthcare.
If the program you applied to only looks at GPA and test score, then it is possible your test score wasn't high enough. You may ask how the two are weighted in the admissions process.
