I took my last test this morning, Health Differences 2 and Passed!!!!! Oh what a relief! Now I will wait for them to update my file. I have already completed my physical, my CPR, and got my passport photo. As soon as they give the green light, I will complete my application and do my background check. I even requested my CPNE study guide and made a copy already. I am also registered for Lynn's workshop in August. Now all I have to do is clean up my messy office. I have books and EC study guides and papers everywhere.
I want to thank everyone on this board for your support and encouragement. It took we a little over 6 months to take all 8 test plus 2 repeats. If you fail a test, don't get too discouraged. Move on to the next test and pick it back up later. Now my journey starts allover again as I prepare for the CPNE. I will probably be hanging out more on the EPN board on Excelsiors website. Again thanks for everything!:heartbeat

:yeah:
Good job!!!
I know what you mean....I just got the news that my CPNE app was accepted, along with a few emails apologizing for the long wait until the test dates are announced. I applied to all the Wisconsin sites and Mansfield as well. Yikes! When does this "I'm going to throw up" feeling go away???

I'm not sure it will ever go away. I applied to all the Wisconsin and Mansfield sites as well. My husbands family live in Cleveland Ohio. So Mansfield would be nice.Where do you live? I live in NC and I'm afraid there will be lots of snow when I get there.

In a few months, when you get a date ... then it's replace by a "OMG, I'm going to pass out" feeling! Ha ha, just kidding. :) T-minus 7 days until I leave for Mansfield! I'm still waiting for the panic, but it's not here yet! It'll arrive soon, no doubt ...

Lisa, that great to know that your not freaking out yet. That lets me know that you are prepared! I pray that your experience is fair and that you don't forget anything pertaining to the critical elements!

You and me both, sister! I'm pretty good with the critical elements, but I'm afraid I'll get enteral feeding on every patient ... that's one thing I've never done! I'm going to see if I can sneak down to our long term care facility at the other end of our building during the next four days I work (Thursday-Sunday) so I can check it out. I know they do tube feedings down there -- usually PEG tubes. I've dealt with NG tubes, but never feeding through them.
I have the "Taylors Video Guide to Clinical Nursing Skills" student CD-ROM and it covers enteral feeding, both by pump and by gravity. I've also made sure to cover it more than once in the skills book so I'll know when I've seen it done correctly!
See, you have all these great skills. You're going to be awesome!!
